The 'sail-side' is blocking the view of the tire, but it does look quite a bit closer to the 'rear cab wall' than I would hav expected! Even my long large MTB has what appears to be similar clearance in my R1T box. I wonder if that 6' measurement is on the optimistic side... it also appears in...
Just a note that people have been buying a reducer to ensure that the wheel is still bearing on the hub. I've decided I'm not comfortable trying the wheel myself, so for this winter I'm just swapping the tires on the rims.
I’ve read through (most of) the super thread on the Dodge Ram 2363 wheels - one thing I haven’t seen conclusively answered is whether the wheels have sufficient weight rating for our trucks…
the Dodge they came off of has a GVWR of about 6,500lbs from what I could find; curb weight of our R1...
I had a good chuckle at that (among other things) - I've had 5 in mine already, didn't have to cut anyone in half!
Nothing in there I felt like correcting enough to make a profile on that forum though.
I'm liking my FG after 2 months of ownership. I went to the opening day for the Vancouver space and is was handy to see several in person, both for the exterior colour and interiors. In the end, we stuck with our original config of FG/BM, though we were pretty close to going FG/FE! Excited that...
As you said yourself, our Rivian's are "over-spec'd" as far as tire load index goes. Not everything will be completely matched.
Unless you don't believe the document Tesla submitted to the NHTSA, the GVWR spec's I posted on the first page are correct, and now with the new thread of apparent CT...
I looked at the "heatmap" table posted in the CT thread and the results are hilarious - R1T might not show on paper as bigger than a Tacoma or Maverick, but it certainly feels way larger to me!
I looked into interior measurements years ago, and since there is no standard on how they are...
Anyone know if these rims from a 2003 will work? https://www.kijiji.ca/v-tires-rims/cranbrook/set-of-4-firestone-tires-on-dodge-ram-20-rims-lt-285-60r20/1676734763
They have a different part number stamped on them… but seem fine otherwise.
Rumour mill was indicating higher IIRC... but would make sense to reintroduce Explore with the Standard pack and LFP to hit that broader price spread they mentioned in the Q&A period
Update on battery strategy? Your own chemistry and/or cell? LFP?
- space rapidly evolving; looking out over next decade, what is clear through lens of policy and security of long-term supply is upstream secure of supply, Li, Ni, graphite; each upstream raw materials has implications around cell...
Any small changes in your thoughts on R2 timing due to macro developments on other EVs?
- looking beyond even R2, there is an overreaction to short-medium term headwinds (e.g. interest rates, geopolitical challenges)
- R2 launching in 2026; our confidence to capture essence of the brand, do at a...
OPEX drivers in '24 related to Georgia?
- some coming online
- more in relation to the '24 line changes at Normal
Volume split between Amazon and other customers? After factory re-rate next year, when do you expect to fill capacity for 65k annual for van?
- sales process relatively long...
What about next year's potential for production? 65k?
- impact of shut-down in Q2 '24 temp in nature, but will contribute to run-rate in the future
- will create step-change in cost
- cadence of year, Q1 with existing run-rate, Q2 & Q3 will be impacted due to downtime; then ramping up again in...
Why projecting a lower Q4 volume (ie total year volume guidance - produced to-date)?
- planning a longer shut down in Q2 '24 for changes to vehicle topology, reduce cost
- preceding that shutdown, 1 week in Q4 '23 for longer-lead changes that will lead into '24 changes
- broadly, recognizing...
RJ answered a question on demand for EDV (RCV);
- working on releasing exclusivity agreement for awhile; building relationships with diverse operators in the meantime
- common element is running pilots to prep their system for ingesting new type of vehicle (e.g. charging infrastructure...
Clair (CFO) just answered a question around margin; significant improvement in material cost (related to EDV delivery volume, already margin positive platform; also saw material cost improvement for R1 due to purchase agreement improvements, plus a small portion for Dual Motor).
I also took delivery of my truck in Q3 and had pre-order pricing (which I still find crazy they honoured, but I'm very thankful for it!) I wasn't expecting much improvement in Q3 for "gross margin" because Dual Motor didn't materially contribute. I expect Q4 to look quite a bit better, with...
