I thought about this, but after looking through most of their service centers, most are also leases not purchases, so my thought was i guess it doesn't make sense but neither does building out service centers on leases.
Have they announced what's the intended purpose of the Facility is going to be? I see on the map its almost the middle point between Normal and the future Georgia Facility. Maybe battery pack assembly? or like @OverZealous mentioned maybe parts warehouse? any ideas ?
At this point in time if i were you i'd just wait and see who calls you first on a delivery, you dont really lose much, deposit is still refundable till the day they call you to confirm. I Only say this because you never know what could happen with GM, if they have more issue with Ultium or...
As efficient as heatpumps are, they don't work very well, and take a long time to bring temps up when working in low temps. in residential applications they work great, they have practically an unlimited source of electricity, they can literally run all day and night to bring up and maintain...
I thought the same, then i remembered reading some details about RJ, as smart as Musk may be he's a physics / economics major. RJ on the hand has a phd in Mechanical engineering with a focus in Manufacturing and Operations Management, his father also operates an engineering firm that has...
There are rumors that when apples car is ready they will axe CP and that Google may do the same to try and strong arm manufacturers into switching to android automotive OS
Yup, even though manufacturers can limit some of the data that goes to CP/AA , they rather keep it all in house. And the user experience is the psychology part. I was consulting a few years back when AA was coming online, there were 4 psychologist on the panel of 10 people, they really don't...
Short answer, It all comes down to data, psychology, and recurring fees. The only fee CP/AA have are associated with the implementation and debugging the manufacturers need to do to make sure either doesn't cause issues with the OS the vehicle and the UI are running on.
I'm a little familiar with some of the uses of these apps, I'm also very familiar with the data of what they are mostly used for as well as with the purpose behind the apps existence. I have consulted numerous times for some of the manufacturers of automotive Operating Systems. I do appreciate...
IMO They should have given launch edition order holders an $1800 credit if they opted to go with the dark wheels. if not its like they are taking away your free upgrade when you choose dark.
Same could be said about the volume knob, I mean ford, gm, and ram they all have recently revamped their center displays on all their trucks and new upcoming EV's they all have given up display space to add volume knobs.
but I really don't care for the the knobs or the lack there of them, I was...
Every vehicle I've owned since my '89 trans am has had volume control under my thumb, still it's always been way easier and convenient to turn a rotary knob on a radio.
not trying to rehash anything, just dont understand why those are what everyone are constantly complaining about when it comes to the cons of the vehicle, Some have even stated that are cancelling their orders over the lack of CP/AA to me that's just ridiculous. I feel like not having a volume...
some people said that they talked to CS and they said they were working on an alternative, for the sake of those who need it, i hope they come through. who knows maybe the R1's have similar hardware and they just need software.
you have a valid point, they should have it, and you have a situation where it may be a pain without it, at work we use a MyQ at each location we have multiple storage facilities with over 12 doors/gates, when my homelink module stopped working for the second time, i switched to it, it was a...
you are 100% right my friend, I was just pointing out that they aren't that bad of issues. especially if the hardware is there, and just software needs fixing. and i dont mean to defend Rivian, i just dont think the issues are that bad.
I understand this, but there are options that are just as simple and far superior. you can buy a MyQ its 30$ does the same, runs on your phone and alexa or google assistant, you have the benefit of knowing if your door is open or closed from anywhere at anytime, and you can open or close it...
