These days actual plies are irrelevant compared to ply rating. When all tires were made with cotton cord belts it was an accurate spec but these days with the steel, nylon, and even Aramid (Kevlar) materials the rating is the important spec.
This is a coating peeling that is used because it gives the hard plastics a soft touch. Ask any Ferrari owner from the 90ās-2000ās about sticky plastics. something reacted with it likely a lotion on skin based on the OPās description.

Nope. I didnāt have any of those issues. But to be honest I expected there would/could be some issues. Just like my Teslas. Just like my first year Range Rover sport in its generation.
There wonāt be even a tiny recall for the tonneau covers. Service Bulletin? Most definitely. Service Campaign? Very possible. But not a recall of any sort.
I own a S and an X. Neither have ever gotten remotely close to the EPA range when driving normally. The Rivian has been consistently getting very close or in one case exceeding the EPA range, even with 2 large coolers on a bed mounted rack.

Yes, I was referring to the dealerships in that statement. My concern is that they (dealerships) wonāt be happy with the service revenue or may jack up parts prices to compensate. I know of a place in my town that charges 10% over MSRP for parts so it does happen and I doubt the manufacturers...
