When you first plug in the mobile charger it does a brief boot and you'll see it cycle through several colors. If you plug in the car before it finishes, it can go into an error state. Doesn't sound like this is your scenario.

I always found abrp to be clunky. These days the rivian nav handles everything so well. Download the rivian app and explore. I rarely need to DC charge and when I do, it's about as dramatic as getting gas.
Try dialing back the current. Don't plug into the car until the portable charger has completed its boot diag. Check that you have proper grounding on the egc.

The bottom user menu items will not be standard as they can be customized. Drive modes also vary between models. But sharing reliable XY locations is a good idea.
