At a low state of charge it'll be like a leisurely gas stop to give it a splash and let you stretch for a bit. Put it in conserve and you'll be fine. The Max pack is a beast.
RV sites never intended to charge EVs. The purpose of a TT30 adapter is to allow a large RV to grab the primary 120V phase and neutral at an TT30 camp site to run the camper. It won't be able to use it's secondary AC unit.
The purpose of a TT30EV adapter is to allow an EV to grab the 120V...
Not much else to report on this info. Hopefully not an April fools joke for those of you with preorders.
Update: My source could be wrong but it's from inside Rivian. I don't have an R2 Order. I have no dog in the fight.
Yea there are only a couple of V2H solutions right now that work with a Rivian. Best bet is an extension cord off the inverter but be cautious not to blow the inverter fuse.
I think they defaulted the Tri to always AWD. Is there a conserve mode? It's supposed to switch off the rear motors like the DM when not needed. That should be a different EPA value. This would be different than the Bosch Quad where conserve is always FWD.
All of this wouldn't have been an issue if it was RWD by default. If "Conserve" was RWD like every Toyota, Chevy, Ford truck and SUV, it would have been a non issue. Instead they took an AWD Honda CRV which is usually FWD and made the size of a minivan and weight of an F250.
What causes the Vamprire drain is not so much the little 18ah battery but the fact that starting the car up every few hours to charge it is very inefficient. Having a larger battery that can survive sleep cycles while parked for several days means the 12V battery would only be charged while...
Yes if you ignore the warnings about taking control, it now disables itself for the rest of the driving session. I made that mistake once recently when it warned me to take control coming up and I waited for it to disconnect and hand control back to me. You have to immediately tap the lever...
Yea it's still an EV but 60 mile range and then the generator kicks in. Same basic platform so it's not all wasted. I hope Ford does well with it.
I know a few people going back to gas so nothing's perfect.
