No way is it gambling. If the Fed came out tonight and said they had an emergency meeting and were lowering interest rates back down, this thing would face rip higher.
RIVN shit in the past year because the Fed stated they will slow the economy, probably into a recession, this is done on...
Not sure how you can state that. A stock price (and bond price) definitely reflects a companies financial health.
Investors are betting the outlook has dimmed significantly compared to a year ago.
Wow, a new low isn't good. This would make me suspicious at best on making a $70k+ purchase given the risk if Rivian will be around in a few years.
Four huge challenges for Rivian: 1-Slow to possible economic recession. 2-High cost of money. 3-Tesla starting a price war. 4-Oncoming...
In all fairness there were plenty of posts that were disregarding the tonneau cover fiasco, saying it only impacts a small number of trucks and not to worry. Look how bad that turned out.
My take on it is Rivian marketing department was told to come up with some wording to jazz up Driver+, and make the customer feel their getting something for nothing.
The lost of investor confidence would become a major concern of mine. I doubt I'd plunk down $$$ for a car/truck where the manufacturer has a real chance of going under.
Those are good points. It will be interesting to see how Tesla does. Frankly I wouldn't buy a Tesla because I just don't care for the jelly bean shape. But I do like their charging network.
That was very interesting to see the Rivian stock slide so much.
Investor confidence in Rivian has really tumbled. It's either this company makes it or it doesn't, the next six months will be telling. If the economy starts to falter I'm not sure how Rivian gets through it.
Tesla stock has been insane for a couple years. It was just as insane as Rivian being worth $120B.
Hopefully at some point, TSLA is valued at a reasonable level. That would tell me the EV mania era is done for good.
People do this all the time when a sales mania turns in a sales cliff and results in price drops...They throw a shit-fit even after they agreed to the price and signed a sales contract. Again, study social proof in sales.
Many did this in the 2009 housing downfall and then pretended as of they...
This will hit Rivian one way or the other, regardless if potential buyers cross shop or not. They're not out of the woods. If the "buy an EV at any price" era is coming to an end that's going to put pressure on all EV margins.
If the "Buy an EV at any price" era is about over, thank goodness, I...
EV's are selling in quantity more. For the majority of people, they remain a mystery. When something is a mystery, news sells....therefore you get articles like this. But if I was a editor or columnist, I'd be writing the same thing.
Regardless of what others say here, I bet many would pay the higher prices if the EV mania was still in full force. If RIVN was hitting new highs along with the stock market and others were giddy with excitement. This is called social proof in sales and it feeds on itself until basically it no...
