  1. Bi-Directional Charging coming when?

Dunno if this is serious but with no conservation (using everything they’d normally use) the Rivian could power avg home for like 4 days. It’s battery is like 10 powerwalls
  2. What key do you give to service?

Gave card, didn’t have fob. No issue.
  3. Rivian V2V/bi-directional charging from Long Way Up

I’m probably late to the party on this but I was watching Long Way Up again and they mentioned a “breakthrough“ by Rivian which allowed them to charge the bikes to full in 2 hours. That means about 7.5 kw charging. I’m assuming this means at least the prototype CCS build supported bidirectional...
  4. Volvo EX90 could be worthy competitor to R1S

Yeah but most people see all suv as offroad capable even though it’s not true to us.
  5. Volvo EX90 could be worthy competitor to R1S

Eh I would say this picture is a bit aggressive. In a world where you can adventure without going offroading I would say EX90 is plenty capable to not 'soccer mom' and be functional while the R1S will fill the niche of needing offroad capable. Granted at least 50% of R1S buyers will use it...
  6. Half Shaft / CV Joint Noise

Sounds like they in combo with grease had to loosen something, move axle a bit(towards inner cv joint or outer CV joint?), then tighten something back up.
  7. Half Shaft / CV Joint Noise

FWIW mobile service was able to address my squeaking(also seemed to remove a thunk that i guess i had gotten used to and seemed to be more an on/off thing but maybe also was a symptom) without removing wheels and it's been good for about a month now. That is to say, it's potential something...
  8. Bi-directional charging?

Eh - it's part of the CCS standard. I doubt that but it could be the case. Either way - the way the press release reads to me shows that they are more touting that their own personal architecture is super capable rather than existing is not capable.
  9. Bi-directional charging?

Yes you can seems a bit odd theyd change the battery charging architecture months from production. Not an easy change
  10. Bi-directional charging?

That doesn’t say the existing architecture doesn’t have it… just that the new stuff does.
  11. Bi-directional charging?

If it's like Tesla it would have a special gateway in place. (powerwall that is)
  12. Bi-directional charging?

Last year in an interview RJ said current trucks would support it with a special hardware required on the home side that they're working on. But no update since then. a summary "2 Different types of products, we have a v2v charger we've developing to charge 1 car with another car. then we have...
  13. Pleased with Conserve mode's efficiency over 900 mile trip

Yeah just took a 290 mi trip yesterday at mostly speeds of 75-80 and had about 10 mi left, not bad! Then charged at home during off peak hrs and full(85%) when I woke up.
  14. Ownership practicality living >100 miles from SC

Yeah he did mention they're still planning out a solution, though it did sound like maybe the tonneau fix was close to deployment(mine is fine so not too worried about it)
  15. Ownership practicality living >100 miles from SC

I am 2.5 hrs from SC(ATL) and have had 2 mobile service visits(one for panel alignment, went great - other for Recall, Spare tire install, and squeaky axles, also went great). No problems so far.
  16. ⚠️ Rivian Recall: insufficiently torqued front upper control arm & steering knuckle fastener [official torque value = 90 lb-ft / 122 Nm]

While this is mostly a small deal with only .05% I do think they should release torque specs so this and off road repairs are more accessible.
