Pretty good! It will vary for everyone of course, based on climate and towing/not towing as my guesses for cause of biggest variance. My lifetime average is only 85% of EPA in AP (2.97 vs 3.5 km/kWh). That includes a fair amount of winter driving (and kids sitting in the truck "idling"), and...
Received my truck also in 1 week + 1 day. They had originally booked me in for a Thursday am, hoping to get me back on the road by end of day Friday. Reason for me to go was for "front drive unit, inverter" - they then opportunistically added my 12v battery replacement and check torque on hub to...
I thought I'd be replying to say I had the motor replaced, but in the end the inverter sealing had failed, causing intermittent faults inside. They just needed to replace the front inverter. Apparently a new part revision from what shipped with my May '23 build. So no motor replacement.
Now that there are a bunch of Gen2 owners out there, I think it is time to update my master thread on R1T payload ratings for the various configurations, broken out by generations. I’m curious how they’ve changed, with the truck shedding some ECUs and a bunch of wiring!
Please go to this...
RJ has noted quite a bit that they have designed R2 to not only have a lower BOM but be easier/quicker to build - my assumption is this means significantly reduced labour costs as well.
Mine is in getting the 12v replaced right now (went in for other warranty stuff, and this showed up) - tech noted that when they made some changes to the 12v charging protocol last year, they went a bit too aggressive which was killing 12v a bit sooner than needed (though at least you would get...
IIRC, the initial year or so had usable capacity of just over 128 kWh, then sometime mid-2023 or so, they unlocked a few more kWh to 131. (Tesla did something similar with my 2018 Model 3 Long Range model.)
Further to this, you will see this reflected in the 'charging' app (lightning bolt) when you click the button that shows your range at full. Anything below a battery temp of 10C (50F?) you will see a reduced range than you otherwise would see.
Not quite, it is a hybrid approach. Yes they are expanding a few portions (see page 84 on slide deck linked below), but they are also using existing facilities.
The updated total capacity will be 215,000/yr (from 150,000), and while they COULD still choose to manufacture the current max mix of...
I've run the studded Nokian Hakka LT3 for two winters now. I did controlled testing against the OEM 20" Pirelli AT tires and they have the same efficiency (within measurement error). The studded tires are actually quieter. I like them fine and have them inflated to the regular placard value of...
What did you do to patch the hole left inside and out? Photos? Or do you have a separate thread somewhere that shows it? (sorry for the hijack - interesting topic to me!)
Back on-topic, I've been compiling a list of stations in BC that I've used that are fine with a trailer and am intending to...
Unfortunately I can't wait - we are heading to Utah/Arizona for 4 weeks starting mid-March and I need new tires - OEM 20" Pirellis are at 2/32" to 4/32" (they wore uneven). I run studded Nokian Hakka LT (https://na.nokiantyres.com/snow-winter-tires/nokian-tyres-hakkapeliitta-lt3/) in the winter...
Whelp, I was going to buy these tires, but I cannot find them in Canada (at least not in western Canada) for the life of me! No one has them in stock, and most don't even list the 115S. Canadian Tire did show them available online, so I placed an order on Friday, which was subsequently cancelled...
