Highly recommended (dedicated snows for the Sierra). I’m partial to Nokian the last 12+ years; have had Pirrelli snows & Blizzaks and honestly I’d argue ANY dedicated snow is better than an all season or an AT.
I’ve found I can swap all 4 mounted snows in about 30-45 min.
if I take...
Cale, unless you buy property under a blind trust, have credit cards and phones under a company name with no connection to you and use a flip phone, I’m afraid that ship has sailed. I don’t love it either.
Having my phone on a mag mount on dash, just to right of steering wheel allowed me to easily run google maps along with the old nav.
I’ve used the new system a bunch since the update on well known routes I drive throughout the week. It is always good around here to do a traffic check to...
Others have panned it, but to me (in CA sunshine) the dynamic glass is enough and works great. yes, not perfectly clear when off (or on?), but certainly fine for a sun/moon roof in my opinion.
The interior is nice, cameras are great and I have really come to like the Highway Assist. At this...
Having both at home, I agree on all of these points. I think the diff in how they feel driving is in regards to front wheel drive vs all wheel drive when both in All Purpose modes. Less of an issue with steady driving on the highway / longer trips, unless you are stomping on it a lot.
I agree...
We found the Gen 2 extra range (we have 1 Dual motor & 1 Tri motor) was just enough to make the difference for us: our Gen1 Quad couldn’t make a trip we do routinely without charging part way, now in either vehicle, we comfortably make it.
When we put the tri in conserve, on the highway, with...
Nice build! I’ve thought for a while a nice center console would be great - while I don’t need the electronics, any interest in offering a console?
Where have you seen that? What weights are they saying?
Pretty much every 3/4 ton (class 2b) and up pickup, are the curb weight of a Rivian (and up from there). 1/2 ton & all large SUV have GVW approaching Rivian; 3/4 tons and up are all 10k lbs and up
I’ve used it on a handful of typical trips where I wouldn’t use/need to use Nav and this has been my experience, too.
One place I drive 2x per week has an option for highway (long way around), surface streets (more direct and usually ~ same time) and back roads maybe longer time, maybe shorter...
Super cool! Glad it worked for you.
To the other poster who mentioned it - Don’t sweat the photo: only shared data (photo) that is a problem under HIPPA is that which is attributable to or identifies a specific individual.
Tried the new maps this morning and don’t know what all the complaints are about: my R1S now has perfect diction and even added an unprompted coffee stop for me!
Usually works for me. I did do the seat calibration process - then reset everything. I have it do roomy exit/entry, then go back to driving position.
Occasionally, it doesn’t return to my driving position - seems like it may have to do with sleep/wake issues. In those cases, I select another...
I get it when people say they are into the no button thing, and the whole clean look is pretty cool. But I'm appalled at how much eyes off the road driving this requires (I'm guessing this is anticipating all the self driving that is going to take place soon?) It's not glance over, touch the...
Seems to happen randomly. Sometimes I’ve wondered if it was related to program change on the “station” - sometimes they play exclusive content for example.
Ultimately, Rivian’s ability to service vehicles in a timely manner will make or break the company. You can’t live on early adopters forever.
And yes, I’ve had significant warranty work on Audi, Porsche, Range Rover and BMW vehicles. The big difference is they get the car in quickly and all...
