$20 missed reservation fee. For Rivian it's a win-win. They get revenue if people are there or not (probably more if they no show). Different conversation for us. Would be annoying for many users.
But a good compromise was mentioned earlier in letting a subset of the chargers be reserved. 2/6...
This is all related to batching. They've been building not-to-spec since last June then dumping in the Shop. It's easiest software wise, and better optics than auto-matching to someone who may have just ordered a month ago.
When I had Shop access from June-August last year there were routinely...
Why couldn't both reservations and penalties be used? Many ways this could play out:
A) Make the reservations tight windows like 15 min
B) You charge for reservations
C) Have a penalty for missed reservations. B and C give you options, but if the costs to reserve are high enough not many people...
Rivian:"Free charging!!!!!!*"
* Fine print "For one year after the first RAN station opens to anyone named Tony on Tuesdays from 1a-2a PST. Subject to change."
Agree with this. It will be 2024-5 before most customers can easily use a RAN charger. Just give every owner 1000 kwh that never expire. That way they aren't taking away perks 90% of the first 20k buyers never had a reasonable chance of using.
This is possibly very good news for those of us in GA. I know someone already posted in the thread by @Autolycus that the site near Savannah was going to be a multi-stall RAN site. Hopefully this means it is imminent.
More importantly, it looks like there's going to be something in the greater...
Also getting this since the latest car software update. I've found if you click "wake-up" first, then you can select the climate controls without issue. Quite annoying.
Also, my passive PAAK functionality has always been very spotty. Now, I've also noticed my active lock and unlock icons are...
To close the circle for my story:
Rivian / RegUSA never figured out how to apply properly for my plates in GA. After I requested to just complete the registration myself, I received all the necessary paperwork from Rivian in the mail in 2 days. I then drove the 1.1 miles from my house to the...
Agree it was mildly underwhelming. I think the ex's ride and driver assist functions are going to be superior. My wife cares 0% about Rivian's offroad capability. Two wild cards are when Rivian actually delivers to us (July-Sept window 23), and if the wife thinks the R1S has a better third row...
Yea I get nowhere near this on 20s. I drive 50:50 city:highway and my truck has averaged 2.1 over 2500 miles. For reference I've driven my vehicle Aug 19 to present in GA. No weather ever colder than 40 degrees, and mostly over 55.
In 70 degree weather driving 77 in all-purpose (second lowest...
That 14k is only R1Ts. We are in the 2ks for R1S I believe and vans are different still. I would lowball current Rivians production for 2022 at 14k + 2k +2k = 18k.
I have noticed a distinct drop in efficiency also, and have been debating how much to attribute to weather. But even with 70 degree temps in the afternoon I'm sometimes seeing significantly worse mileage than pre-update.
The weird thing is that my mileage seems less consistent. Sometimes it...
I'm 100% with you on feeling some combination of bait and switched and screwed with. I really wanted a Max pack, but eventually switched to Large because I came to believe the Max was never going to happen.
Currently I'm in car registration hell. I have 9 days left on my temp tags and Rivian /...
