The issue seems to be that Rivian initially told people that their vehicles could be flat towed, including in the video linked above from May 2019. Then Rivian never issued a correction on this issue, but let CS dribble out incomplete information that made the issue less clear. People were not...
Not sure any of this is "new" information for anyone who is active on these forums.
I guess I'm glad Rivian is giving us the "official" go-ahead to call them "chargers" instead of making me type "charging station" or "EVSE" to not sound stupid in every post here :CWL:
Did they say whether both the R1T and R1S are this width? I would assume they are the same width.
I have a non-standard two-car garage width and I was already cutting it very close to fit the R1T in the garage with another car . . .
I will double-down on my prediction from last week. We will probably get information on the Yakima products, complete with pretty photos, and some info on accessory pricing. Seems like the logical explanation after they had vehicles loaded up with tents and bike racks driving around town two...
Mostly I just think the truck is cool.
There’s more of course. I feel like I’m on the younger side of people on this forum (no wife/kids), and the R1T will absolutely be a “toy” for recreational purposes, while also serving as a daily driver. I’m now in a financial position to spend a little...
Not to be a downer, but there is a flip-side to this. Rivian has had prototypes for years now. Yet, they’ve only demoed the vehicle in heavily Rivian-controlled environments like Long Way Up, Rebelle Rally, and the testing/on-locations videos they’ve posted. We don’t actually know how the...
I’ve wondered if the production Cybertruck will end-up being more “normal” when Elon/Tesla finally releases info on the production design. Wouldn’t be surprised if it ends looking much more like the R1T, or there is a version that looks more like the R1T
You could look through this thread :

There are some 11/26/2018 pre-order folks in there.
Yea we only have the fact sheet, not the text of any bill, but I thought this sentence was interesting:
That suggests to me they might be considering some means testing for the EV rebate or limitation on MSRP. I think everyone would agree you don't need an incentive for a $110,000 Hummer EV...
This was just supposed to be an informative post about some major plans to promote EVs in the US, including potential changes to rebates and incentives when buying an EV.
Let's try to keep the politics out of it. I disagree a lot with what is being said here, but I don't plan to respond...
I'm happy with the Rivian warranty.
I do wonder if they have some actuarial tables that show the vast majority of drivers will reach 8 years on the warranty before driving much more than 120,000 miles. The 175,000 miles looks great, but not might be that much additional benefit for the...
Some bullet points from President Biden's proposed Infrastructure Bill being announced today:
$174 Billon investment to compete with China and win the EV market
New consumer point-of-sale rebates and tax incentives for purchasing American-made EVs
Grants to retool U.S. factories to build EVs...
This would be my guess with the recent photos showing off the Yakima products, or that might come next week after they have time to make any photos and videos pretty.
Why else load up the R1T if not for a photo shoot?
I think the last we heard on this question was “no” - although Rivian could have changed things more recently based on feedback
Here is an old thread discussing (complaining?) about this:
