  1. Kuat NV2 bike rack on R1T

I've got a similar drop extender coming on Monday and will repeat the photos.
  2. DIY Camp Kitchen (In Progress)

Have you seen this video (742) Rivian Review no. 4 Camp Kitchen - YouTube ? At around 9:30 they go around to the driver's side and you get a good view of the sliders. They are mounted in a frame at an angle and that frame is then bolted to the tunnel.
  3. Kuat NV2 bike rack on R1T

That would definitely help, if you flipped it over from what the picture shows.
  4. Camping/tailgaiting in comfort

The chairs and hammock are Crua, same company I got my RTT from. Crua Outdoors Insulated Camping Tents and Hammocks The stand is from Hammaka HAMMAKA HAMMOCK HITCH STAND – Hammaka . Note that they have a similar model for $50 less that only works with chairs.
  5. Camping/tailgaiting in comfort

Was too windy to set up my tripod today. Big storm coming but I'll get some shots next time I have the RTT mounted up.
  6. Camping/tailgaiting in comfort

Nope. Bought vinyl stickers here Rivian Wheel Vinyl Decals | brainexplodermerch
  7. My Partially Disassembled R1T at the Body Shop For Repaint

They most certainly do. If you take your foot off completely they come on. At other times it depends on how hard you are decelerating. It shows on the driver display, but can be tough to make out. My crossbars on the bed reflect the upper brake light strongly at night.
  8. Kuat NV2 bike rack on R1T

For those of you who might have a Kuat NV2 bike rack you want to use with your truck. It fits, but with a bike mounted inboard the pedal is dangerously close to the tailgate. Also, when dropped down the tailgate hits the rack, even without a bike. With the bike in the outboard spot...
  9. Camping/tailgaiting in comfort

Decided to mount up a new toy (or is it set of toys?) today to check them out. Now I just need this winter storm to pass (and a camp kitchen to arrive) for the ultimate camping/tailgaiting setup. hers/hers, his/his, or hers/his hammock chairs. Only put on 1 of the chairs cause of the wind...
  10. Truck goes into park when I am in reverse

I can confirm that this occurs in drive as well. I was stopped at a light, undid my seatbelt, and leaned over to grab something off the passenger side floor and the truck went into Park. I can also confirm that shifting into gear with the door open will shift immediately back to park. No idea...
  11. Cool Rivian Patent/TradeMark Info

My FOB was DOA, but I suspect it has proximity and that Rivian just hasn't turned it on. The vehicle knows if the FOB is inside (as reported elsewhere) so it's got to be transmitting some sort of signal.
  12. It's not just you, garage door software is buggy

Has anybody been able to get the truck programmed to deal with a Sommer opener?
  13. Glass roof UV reduction efficiency measured (@ First Mile Dallas)

The tinting on the roof and back windows blocks some infrared energy. The fronts and windshield not as much. These pics were taken with my converted Sony camera and a 850 nm filter for you science/photo geeks. Through the open parts of the windows you can see how the foliage (yeah, I need to...
  14. Truck goes into park when I am in reverse

I'd been wondering what we do if we had a runaway accelerator, since there really is no off button/switch, and shifting to park by pushing the button while rolling doesn't work (ask me how I know). I guess you just get off the seat.
  15. MY TRUCK WAS REAR ENDED

Absolutely no apologies necessary. I had looked at pics and thought aluminum, but figured the easiest way to test, once I had my truck, was with a magnet. It's the same thing I'd tell my students to do. I agree that the magnetic attraction was weaker than I'd expect compared to the typical car...
  16. MY TRUCK WAS REAR ENDED

Well, a magnet sticks to mine, but not any of the other body panels. Unless they came up with some sort of magnetic aluminum I've not heard of, or they are using magnetic paint in that region only, I'll go with steel.
  17. Ask us Rivian R1T owners ANYTHING [AMA]!

Funny you mention this. When I was picking up my R1T last week, the employee who was working with me recommended against using Conserve regularly. He said one of their managers drove in Conserve almost exclusively (no charger at home) and didn't rotate at 5,000 miles. By 10,000 the front...
  18. MY TRUCK WAS REAR ENDED

The quarter panels are steel, all the other panels (hood, tailgate, front fenders, doors, gear tunnel doors) are aluminum.
  19. Rear brake light bar?

I just scanned the relevant Federal standards (yeah, about as much fun as it sounds), and I can't find anything about prohibiting a light on a movable part. I suspect that as long as there are 3 fixed lights there wouldn't be an issue with an additional light on the tailgate. As an example...
  20. Non-Rivian rooftop tents

You'd have to figure out a way to mount it to the crossbars, but it would fit.
