  1. Scout Launch Delayed to 2028: Report [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

Well you might want to find a new next EV. Not sure scout ever makes it to market.
  2. 2026.03 Update Pushed! Now Installing

Gets rolled out in waves over the course of a couple of weeks.
  3. Idle fee hate

I think they are talking about the free charging on DCFC stations like EA that manufactures use as an incentive to buy an EV. Not L2 free charging.
  4. Plug and Charge vs. EA Pass+ Issue

So had any EV figured out how to use plug and charge with subscriptions? Seems like it only works if it's the same company, i.e. Tesla to Supercharger or Rivian to RAN. Seems to be kind of a miss that you can't get a charging subscription and have plug and charge.
  5. Idle fee hate

There is zero chance I would ever sit at a charging station and not be charging. I find that extremely inconsiderate and very annoying. Doesn't matter if the station is full or empty, it's still inconsiderate. I realize I might be in the minority though.
  6. Idle fee hate

Really wish there would have been gas station idle fees. Nothing more anointing than waiting in line at a truck stop while people are done fueling and go inside the convenience store for 20 min while still parked at the pump.
  7. Doug DeMuro Can't Stop Praising R2

That's exactly why I want one. Really really miss my 2000 3rd Gen 4Runner.
  8. Scout Launch Delayed to 2028: Report [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

Maybe the speculation that the gas engine wasn't powerful enough for towing was correct and they need to fit a large generator in there. I assume they want to make everything else the same between the EV and EREV, that could be why they aren't just working on the EV version first.
  9. Doug DeMuro Can't Stop Praising R2

25% battery degradation after 10 years is a bit extreme. I'd expect maybe 10%-15% if that. Rivian's batteries have show very little degradation on the R1s so far.
  10. What Would Make You Dump Your R1 for an R2

And that's why I'm not trading in my R1T yet. Eventually I think we get there. According to some reports it seems like BMW is getting closer except for maybe towing.
  11. What Would Make You Dump Your R1 for an R2

Here are my next vehicle requirements to replace my R1T. 400+ miles of range 350+kW charging 6000+ lbs towing R2 size with similar features $50k price
  12. Rivian charging vs Tesla

Seems like Rivian isn't that interested in expanding their network much anymore. At this rate Ionna is going to pass RAN in number of locations and they just opened a bit over a year ago.
  13. Rivian charging vs Tesla

None taken. I"m not the type of person to put cost above all else. I used to support my local gas station even though they were more expensive than a mile down the street. Just not worth it to me. And I'll do the same with RAN. If there is one available I will use it to support Rivian.
  14. Rivian charging vs Tesla

Ok good for you. I will pay a bit higher to keep helping out Rivian. An extra few bucks doesn't make a huge difference.
  15. Rivian charging vs Tesla

You didn't mention cost at all in your original post. And you are not forced to use Tesla then, you choose to use them to save money. You can just as easily use RAN if you wanted to.
  16. Value proposition question - at what distance do you consider your ICE over EV?

Only time I would consider using and ICE car again would be for towing. Everything else I do an EV is a much better road trip car.
  17. Rivian charging vs Tesla

Ummmm what? Yes Tesla has the biggest charging network in the country. And the most reliable. Why are you asking Rivian to do better? Charging networks should the viewed separately from their cars. Not every EV maker has their own charging network so don't expect RAN to be the same as the...
  18. Doug DeMuro Can't Stop Praising R2

I much rather road trip in an EV these days. It's so much more relaxing.
  19. Proximity locking is annoying

why not just turn it off at home?
