In high milage cars it is significant. Go and price out the cost to add that much extra coverage...
BTY its 1 more year and 10K extra miles for all parts and 25k more miles for pack and drive units. that is significant. That equates out to a 20% increase in parts and `18% on pack and motors.
you proved my point in your comments. Your Non-HP R1T cools faster than any HP car you have owned with precondition or not.
I use pre condition everything you described. HP is just not as good as regular AC! I will take the sacrifice in range for the comfort... People expect more efficiency =...
In the Tesla Model 3 and Y first to implement the HP system they also incorporated an octo valve for the refrigerant flow from the pack to the HP. This was where most of the efficacy improvement comes from over a standard system. We don't know how Rivian has implemented the system. People also...
As suspected the HP has issues cooling. My Tesla and almost every other car with a HP take forever to get cold. This is a bigger deal than most people think. Go read a Tesla forum and all the complaints about HP units.
Were 100% sure about this because the notes on the latest bata have a fair amount of update to the suspension software.
I am also sure they won't be replaceable with a Gen 1 car since they changed the harness and plug connections. It would be cool if they offered an adaptor, and it worked on...
I think another point people are missing is that denser cells degrade much faster than less dense cells. I have seen some estimates that after a year of use some G1 Large packs only lost 1-2% capacity. I would be interested to see how this looks on the G2. I would guess it would be in the 2%+...
Just remember the QM large has a significantly longer warranty than any other Rivian produced or in production. I drove in my parents' R1S today on 22's in same suspension mode as my R1T and the ride is slightly worse but that a wheelbase issue that I don't think suspension can solve. I have...
They will be cash flow positive. The complaint is the price to consumer increased drastically. On average from G1 to G2 for comparable specs the price increase $8-15k before options. Thats roughly 10%. Not to mention they removed features as I stated above on the EL models.
As the title says. I wonder what the interest would have been in a long wheelbase version of the R1S built on the R1T platform. With second row captain seats in the ascent trim only on the Tri and Quad motor versions. I think this was a big miss in the recent Gen 2 update.
I agree! If they made a "entry level version" at $60k with solid roof, no air suspension, standard+ pack and DM, they would kill it. 280-300 miles of range.. This might have been the biggest miss yet for them.
Related to the R1S they should have kept pricing from Gen1 but in Gen 2 introduced a...
Go to your service center where you are taking delivery, speak to the delivery manager, tell them you want to change to the 22" rims. This is not a big deal, and they will accommodate for the cost delta. My parents ordered a R1S with 21's and did the demo drive with one that had 22's, they told...
I actually called this pricing structure and motor configuration an a speculatory post about the update. Profitability comes 2 ways, reduced manufacturing cost and MSRP increase. People have to be delusional to think the price was not going up. Infact the base price is $69k same as old they say...
