  1. 3W Floor Mats Giveaway | What have you done for your Rivian this month?

Knowing the survey is closed, I'll offer this thing that I was able to do with the R1S. As it has been very cold and snowy winter here in MI (and pretty much everywhere), our neighborhood mail-box station doors were frozen shut. They are aluminum but far away from anyone's unit in the middle...
  2. R2 Changes Since 2024 (Mike Kantorski)

Thank you Mikekantorski_tech. Very much appreciate the work and honesty that goes into all your video feeds. This forum sometimes hurts the very brand it tries to help. Also, I very much enjoyed the winter tire /vs/ all-season test video last week as well. Every week Friday, is another look...
  3. What R2 features are you most excited about?

Or taking the handicap spot to not block the last remaining normal back-in Tesla stall. . .
  4. 3W Floor Mats Giveaway | What have you done for your Rivian this month?

Ok. West Michigan winters are salty. Been doing the car wash thing for a while but have trended to the only car wash in town that cleans mats bcuz the std Riv mats only hold salt!
  5. Latest Rivian Patents-Rear Opening Glass & Physical Buttons

The current rear gate is both physical switch at the rear entry under the riVian. But there is also a soft key infotainment open/close under the vehicle symbol. It would be no problem for Rivian to double-click the physical button to do glass and single click to do just as it does today, open...
  6. UHF has never worked on my Gen2 with 46.0 and now 46.30

Ok. Just finished this same exact issue. The cloud persona and your truck are not in sync. Nothing wrong with the vehicle but if you can’t get your connectivity + subscription to show, that is the vehicle telling you there is a (null) value in the cloud. Also, not mention but when you are in...
  7. Help: .0 vs .30

Took :20 min. Have a 1Gb fiber pipe to the house.
  8. What winter upgrade did you think you'd need… but didn’t?

Down Jacket, electric down blanket and a couple power bars. The food goes bad every year. The one item I’ve had in the trunk for decades and have finally ditched — cigarette plug driven CB radio. The reason is my car no longer has a cigarette plug!!!
  9. 3rd party wall chargers ok or not?

Decide on a few things that are important to you. Do you want off-peak cost of charging power in your area? And are you signed up for it with your local utility? WIFI connectivity? Cost to charge over a month? Peak amps (32A, 40A, 50A, more?), including software defined power delivery...
  10. Pro Tip: ensure you have 2nd key with you with new digital key!

Yeah, This leaving the phone in the car and not being able to use the watch has happened to me too. Again, the force awakening (I agree SW reference) allows the watch to work and also can help use the keycard to work as well. There is the path of crawling through the now open trunk to get to...
  11. Pro Tip: ensure you have 2nd key with you with new digital key!

This has happened to me twice. Here is the workaround... Go to the back of the R1S or front of the R1 vehicle and either open the trunk or frunk with the button while wearing your watch or keycard. This force-awakens the R1 and you should be successful at opening doors as they present...
  12. See a Rivian…Wave to a Rivian

Love to wave at Rivians. About 1/2 wave back. Even in Bloomington where you'd think Rivian community was strong. Too bad we can't agree on a relaxed Rivian two-finger standard where we create a lower-case 'r' as a wave signature. I'm sure there are Rivian drivers that have a better standard...
  13. RJ on CarPlay (Autoblog Post / Stratechery Interview)

What is yet again interesting is I’m not arguing FOR CP but rather what Rivian did deliver, Apple Music. Because it is so lackluster, it keeps CP discussions going. If Rivian really delivered Apple Music integration; no 1-2 min lag loading Favorites, limited playlists, non/syncing with playlists...
  14. RJ on CarPlay (Autoblog Post / Stratechery Interview)

Every example mentioned, is either the auto company deployment of Apple's second screen or the App Mfr trying to figure out what can be ported from a page-rich app to a single second screen projection. Please don’t try and defend Rivian. They ship compromised infotainment software. 5 yrs in...
  15. RJ on CarPlay (Autoblog Post / Stratechery Interview)

What was especially enjoyable about your reply is Rivian never promised the last paragraph of obvious Apple enabled API features, ever. Yet Rivian provides them only within the context of the phone’s O/S being updated to support PAAK. CP has features, they are useful to many, and are superior...
  16. F-150 Lightning EV canceled. To be replaced with EREV Lightning (700+ miles range)

Having tuned cars for years, I wonder about EVs that loose mfg software support. Will the tuner community step in a juice F-150 lightnings?, add features to pre gen4 hardware teslas, give more performance to gen1 Rivians?
  17. Can we upgrade R1 Gen2 to Gen3? Will R1s come with Gen3 next year?

I’d say maybe. If they can co opt the transport wiring from MobileEye, they could use the mirror cutout for lidar/cameras. It likely would mean Gen3+ hardware to handle lower res cameras.
  18. Software updates that should be here by now.

Agree. <30mph is closer. ~70-75 is selectable. There seems to an unknown area between them where one setting isn’t good for all normal situations.
  19. [POLL] How likely are you to pay for Autonomy+ Package?

Both lifetime Autonomy+ & Connectivity+ as a Gen2/LE. Oh and 22ā€wheels, BT speaker, welcome kit with a few accessories including a fob and hand warmer plus 6 months of charging with using a reference code. Oh yeah, 1,025hp. If used or not, it’s in there. Drive-on with a smile 😁
