  1. January/Feb delivery windows

Those parts of the business will need to grow substantially to offer any sort of reasonable service to owners so I don't think postings are idicitve of hiring challenges. When RJ was talking to Sandy I got the sense he was more or less telling the truth with the root cause of the current delays...
  2. January/Feb delivery windows

A major issue is the lack of follow through on self imposed deadlines and commitments. I completely understand a guide not getting in touch with the 50K+ preorders that were in place Q42021, that's a lot of work do to for a startup...but why set that as the expectation? Why not just start with...
  3. January/Feb delivery windows

Why set a deadline you can't meet? After the first couple delays you figure they'd reassess how they calculate customer timing expectations. Also, not that it was ok before the IPO but now it all "counts", why add impatient shareholders and fluff journalism calling out your issues into the mix...
  4. Introducing Rivian Gear Guard -- camera and cable system that protects everything in your R1T.

I'm curious to see if Rivian will offer dashcam functionality. Can't imagine it being that complicated to implement with the cameras already in place. There's for sure front/rear angles but not sure of the side mounted cameras can show more than just an "at wheel view".
  5. Throttle House R1T Review

I'm assuming cameras will be an iterative fix. There's likely a bit of software optimization that can be done, as other's have said it's pretty tough to source a completely unusable auto grade camera at this point. But I'm not expecting anything more than serviceable "Can I see if I'll hit...
  6. Tick Tick Tick...

Just thinking about it for a moment we're nearly at mid Feb so halfway though Q1 and no one (or at least no one who's made it known) has a confirmed delivery. This is what's known as a d*ck move in bird culture. I also agree at this point there won't be any surprises before the earnings call.
  7. Tick Tick Tick...

Id love to purchase a competitor, I just cant find one. The Lightning is far too large for my needs and since I didn’t pre order I wouldn’t get it until next year at the earliest. With what little I’ve heard in the way of customer deliveries, Iā€˜m pretty skeptical of my 2H22 delivery timing.
  8. Call From Rivian about changing order for earlier delivery date

I'd be extremely surprised with a price hike for current reservation holders. I 100% agree they could charge more but its not like the Rivian is bursting at the seams with customer goodwill at this point. Once they have a few months of higher volume prodcution with hundreds of deliveries a...
  9. Rivian R1T MAX PACK delivery update from customer service -- Q1 2023 Possible

It's a bit silly they haven't just had guides break up the work and reach out to those who pre-ordered early and are now choosing to switch to Large/Adventure to speed up delivery. I guess I don't know for sure how many people are impacted but I'd be surprised if it was a crazy high number...
  10. I’m backkkkk. What do you want to see / know?

@Iwantatesla The app allows you to turn on climate control setting prior to entering the vehicle right? I did a quick search and didn't find anything but assumed this was a basic feature.
  11. OTA Updates Free Forever

I think there’s a lot of leeway for Rivian given thereā€˜s no standard in this space. While I can’t see them specifically charging for OTA updates on a $70k vehicle its certainly possible they add ā€œnewā€ features and charge for those. For the short term it’d be much easier to focus on one software...
  12. Rear screen options

Agree, the cheapest iPad in a rear seat holder is infinitely more usable than a single screen you have to look down to use. And in Rivian's case I'd rather the software team spend their limited resources on almost anything else.
  13. Limestone in the spray booth...

At this point Limestone is inside of us all, its the friends you make along the way.
  14. Limestone vs El Cap Granite - live look comparison pic

This makes things more complicated for me, I found LA Silver to be too bright so Limestone was more up my alley. But with taking this long to reveal Limestone I sold myself on Forrest Green.
  15. Sun roof shade

One of the main reasons I went with the Adventure pack, the ventillated seats. That and I figured they'd produce the more expensive trim first. Even if the UV protection isn't up to the task at least I can turn on the seat ventillation instead of the AC.
  16. Limestone is LG for the Masses

Agree, based off the image we've all seen. It's like someone was making LA Silver and added a hint of green by mistake and they went with it.
  17. Limestone vs El Cap Granite - live look comparison pic

This whole thing is a bit funny to me when I think about it. Rivian's done a color reveal that's ultimately created more questions than answers.
  18. Limestone is LG for the Masses

Like many of you I shared the same thoughts regarding Limestone being close to Launch Green. Ideally I get to see these colors in person but I’m not sure this Limestone ā€œrevealā€ entices me to switch from Forrest Green.
  19. Has anyone on this forum received a confirmed delivery date?

Rivian certainly can improve communication. But I'd disagree with your parallels of RJ and Elon. If we get to the point where RJ is promising autonomous driving or something else completely "out there" for 9 years in a row, maybe...
  20. New Information about supply chain (Jan/2022)

Hoping Rivian learned from 2020-2021 and sandbagged. December's blast email was the first clear delivery window communication to all reservation holders. It's not a good look to miss, especially when they set the date, they could've easily added in another X months and no one would've been the...
