It's a very promising start for range. Hopefully as more of these hit the wild and the range numbers have a greater sample size we'll be able to better analyze the data. Doesn't suck any less for those Max Pack orders who truly need the extra range. But as someone who was on the fence at one...
Completely agree. I'm most surprised by 240-250 in the winter on ATs. That's similar to what I get in my MY and it's a hell of a lot lighter vehicle that's running on AS tires.
Extremely unlikely. If Rivian has already figured out how to mass produce a solid state battery at a reasonable cost and it's only $10k passed onto the consumer they've created magic.
Think this can be broken down more simply. If I wanted to reserve an electric pickup truck today the R1T is slightly cheaper with more standard equipment. I’m removing both $40k Chevy and Ford offerings because it’s unclear when the average person who didn’t preorder early will get access...
So far this makes more sense than they're still working on the color. I'd imagine there has to be one reservation holder that picked Limestone with a delivery date planned in the 1H of the year. And the CS line that its on the factory floor already means there's at least some idea of how it will...
I wouldn't call it vaporware in the traditional sense. But in the sense Tesla does what they always do to grab free press and build hype then figure out how to actually build the "thing" at scale. The Cybertruck is no more real than the 2020 Roadster annouced years prior that one can still...
100% agree, my only hope is that they can demonstrate improvement as time goes on. Consistency is the one thing I'd like to see them do that's outside of the Telsa playbook.
I'd consider myself indifferent, definitely not "pro" enough to remove a vehicle like the R1T from consideration without it. I'd agree, having experience with a functional infotainment system means one could be less reliant on AA/CP. I just set Waze to alerts only and carry on with my day on...
I'm not sure anything will change once it hit $10k. Those who would buy it will continue to do so. What's 20%. It's just a great way to boost cash flow without having expend any resources. If I could refund it at this point and get $7k back I would.
Since I'm in that caption I'll just add at this point I'm more amused with the AA/CP discussion than anything else. It's not hurting anyone so who am I to discourage it. I would never have guess there'd be continued discussion this late in the game, it's been a while since Rivian confirmed it...
Reading through your post and putting into words how I feel. I understand why this was done, help with the IPO, help keep social media buzzing while the company delays vehicles. But couldn't they have put this effort into more first drive events or something tangible for the end customers? Hell...
Think its fair to say anyone adamant or passionate employee deliveries should count as customer deliveries had incentive to do so. Whether that incentive was a lovely IPO price that subsequently rallied pretty much immediately or pride/internet points. Most were indifferent. Not to say that's...
Great points, I'd just add it'll be good to wait until there's a sample size greater than a handful. There's simply not enough data out there from owners to see a trend.
Vaporware by definition doesn't exist, that's not true given how much info is out there from people who are driving R1Ts as of today. I was willing to entertain your perspective because there should be a healthy discussion about all issues, and Rivian has made their share of mistakes. But with...
I'm not sure there's any proof Rivian has charging issues or any major issues. So far we have 2 prominent views, one from someone with experience with an employee vehicle (but not the owner) and the other a non employee. So far the only thing we seem to know is that a truck built more recently...
I look at it as an improvement over my Y. You can't pick which vents are on/off. So while fully manual would be great at least there's some adjustabilty with the benefit of potential future features.
