Will definetly be a compromise EV. Design for an ICE power plant and shoehorned EV system. Kind of a rushed product. Not to long after customers get these the second gen Lightning that was designed as a BEV will be coming available.
$344 and you are all set. Plugs right into you 6-50 receptacle. Charger will only push 32 amps so it won’t overload the outlet. Likely get a 30% tax credit on this charger next year so well under $300 all said and done.
Leave the mobile charger in the pickup...
This is going to really hurt startups and legacy manufactures. Tesla not only controls the most reliable and really the only feasible network of “gas” stations for relaxed long distance travel, they have a manufacturing edge in its process that is going to take decades for others to replicate...
I would say with time that will be clarified but it appears on the leasing side it is the exact same as the last EV program which allowed many to take advantage of the credit through leasing that wouldn’t have been allowed if they were buying. But with income limits, and the credit being...
Couldn’t Rivian say on $90k msrp vehicle do a 1 month lease with option to buy after a month…. Like a $0 down lease of this 90k vehicle and have a balloon/buyout payment of 82,500 after a month. Lease collects the tax credit and is able to pass it onto its customers when they buy the vehicle...
That will likely change especially if Tesla could sell electricity to other EV’s. It would likely drive competitors such as EA out of the charging market as things like EA chargers would sit unused and in even a larger state of disrepair and non functional.
I wish Rivian would offer the option to get it’s pickup with a NACS plug and work on a NACS charger. They could upcharge for it even and make some much needed profits
Like a deal to the customer has with EA, EV Go and such for the charge.
Tesla open sources its connector. Rivian could use the connector. I like many would prefer it.
When Tesla opens their network it will be easy to initiate a charge. Not a big deal. So when Aptera releases their vehicle with the NACS you don’t think they will be able to charge on the supercharger network?
Cause despite what ever feelings people have about Tesla it is the only reliable nation wide charging solution that doesn’t require musical parking spots to charge while road tripping providing for a more relaxed worry free road trip experience. NACS is a much more elegant system and way more...
Yes Tesla’s work on CCS. So a Rivian with a much better connector as the NACS installed at the factory would work with an adapter when needing to charge on a CCS. NACS to CCS adapters are easily attainable. I have one
If Rivian doesn’t offer it as an option hopefully after market can come in and fix it…. Teslas charge just fine on CCS connectors when you find stations that work. The NACS connector on a Rivian would be a huge upgrade that Rivian or aftermarket could turn a profit on.
Rivian…. You better get on board!!! Now Tesla doesn’t have to change its connectors out that another manufacture has accepted the Tesla connector as the North American charge standard. All those Government funded chargers will have the NACS connector that we won’t be able to access. Nobody...
Rivian…. If you are reading this thread. I will gladly check an option box of say $1000 if you give me an option to plugging in with a tesla connector and it works on the Supercharger network when it comes time to order an R1t on my almost 3 year old reservation. I already have an adapter to...
On my adventure I would love to be able to get the manual tonneau…. I would even pay my config price that included the powered one. $77550 is my config price…. Rivian could charge me $77550 and give me a manual tonneau instead of the power and I would be ecstatic. The price difference using...
I’m unofficially out. With the cancellations and just all the misses from Rivian it makes me wonder outside of major metropolis would their be anywhere to get these serviced if need be. I know they say mobile service available anywhere but I think the potential for them not to follow through...
Changed my vote from undecided to cancel. Not cancelling until they offer to build me my $94,000 truck. Rivian was going to replace the wife’s low mile plug in hybrid Volvo and the really old pickup was going buh bye cause the pickup is only needed rarely through out the year. With the way the...
