ya. They don’t cover the mileage from TFL shop to the Walmart EA charger. I’m thinking/ guessing 83 miles…. Round trip 166 miles. Just doing math for the max pack in my head is why I was wondering. They took on 46 kwh at the EA charger so that basically the difference between the large pack...
Pretty impressive based on cost round trip if you have residential charging. They put in 56 KWH’s at the EA at 31 cents a kwh…. Then pulled back in at the shop with 16%…. So to fill back up to 100% at the shop would take around 115 kwh at there business/residential rate….
really works out to...
Yes running into the plant…. But the substation will have to be built to power it. How far away and what needs to be built I guess based on existing infrastructure and needs For example Toyota has at least 135 circuits running into its Kentucky plant with a demand of of 85 MVA. They generate...
You think building a factory is a challenge with surrounding property owners you should see the upsetting proposition of getting a new High Voltage Transmission lines built in your backyard to get green energy from the generation source to consumers. The upset property owners breed generations...
Colorado is in the season called Winter. Everywhere they offroad in their home state has a chance of being covered in snow. This is just a fun little jaunt with a couple trucks in someplace that had minimal snow. A Rivian is not going to be any better or any worse in those conditions then any...
@TFLtommy
nicely done. Glad you guys have a Rivian truck to test. In the end I think Rivian actually did you a favor by not having you at the Colorado event with other reviewers sharing seat time and did you a favor cause next to Motortrend I don’t think any vehicle reviewers have been given a...
I would like to see 5%-10% when starting a charge session and up to about 75%. 65-70% capacity usage that way without dwelling for that last 5 percent to 80 when the curve tanks. If the next charging station is in range it’s time to start moving on IMO if the rate drops below 100 kwh
Heck...
put a roll out in there like most test/claim 0-60 have and it’s gets a bit closer. Summer tires and it gets even closer.
Rivian times always included factoring in a rollout
On December 15 their financials said 652 produced. So hitting 1015 is around 180 a week the last 2 weeks of December. Nice bump in production over the initial 652 vehicles. Hopefully they will have another bump in production equally impressive in January. I hope they keep releasing production...
Towing is likely going to be worse with the max pack. A lot more weight adding 50 kwh worth of battery to the vehicle and to accelerate and move. This is not a heavy nor a high wind resistant load tow vehicle. They are towing the mustang on the trailer which is an easy towing load. 4000 lb...
V2H is more of a sway then range. Lightning becomes a super cheap powerwall that you can drive. Plus the lightning can be configure a fair amount cheaper then Rivian
Rivian size, 835 hp, suspension becomes the biggest selling point for the Rivian…. The lightning is just a modified ice f150...
Every Rivian Vehicle currently has a tax credit of $7500. I have changed my build in preparation for the new credit proposal. Can always change back.
If this passes though I will get at least $7500 credit on a Tesla model 3 I have coming in which I wasn’t expecting.
My hopes is Rivian takes...
Going to have to block those fender well aero features off in the winter. It looks like the perfect feature to funnel slush from the roads right up onto the door/jam and have the potential of some build up.
With the raptor mirrors folded it is essentially (less then 3” difference) same width as an f150 with folded standard mirrors at its widest point. With mirrors out a raptor and a f150 are the same exact width at the widest point. With trailer towing mirrors folded out and extended an f150 is...
