"Plaintiffs alleged that Defendants violated the federal securities laws by making materially false and misleading statements and failing to disclose material facts and risks arising from, among other things, the alleged fact that the bill of materials cost of Rivian’s R1S and R1T (together...
I think induction motors are not as efficient. But also Rivian might do it that way because it is cheaper. I bet this was a hotly debated topic when they were designing the R2.
Do you have a Gen2?
Prior to update 2025.46 the front speakers were out of phase with the rear speakers (I think Gen2 only). This caused the bass to get washed out at higher volumes. It was not in the release notes, but update 2025.46 corrected the polarity issue and now all the speakers...
I was referring to leading edge SSBs, but my comment was not clear about that. Point taken.
Although there have been reports of Chinese BEVs spontaneously catching on fire. That might have less to do with the batteries and more to do with cooling systems, IDK. But for sure the claims from that...
All CCP batteries are unsafe and likely to kill your entire family. Don't believe CCP lies.
They claim they have solved every single battery issue, including mass production issues. It's like magic, and we have Mr. Fusion producing energy from trash.
What a load of crap. Prove it is true and...
Tonight I did donuts in my R1T. I did have to go to Off Road All Terrain and disable stability control. Before I did that I could not spin. But once stability control was turned off, spin city.
Yep.
No spare in my R1T, and then I brush a curb and rip the side off the tire. Awesome. I waited 3 hours for the tow truck. If I had a spare, I could have put it on and been home in 30 minutes or less. Like Dominos pizza.
Now I have a full-sized spare. This won't happen again.
1. All the cool new stuff in the R2.
2. 180 kWh battery.
If the R2 cells are 30% more dense, they can increase the capacity of the R1 pack without increasing size or weight.
141 kWh × 1.3 = 183 kWh.
Put those R2 batteries in the R1! Please!
I recommend you don't buy first year production of any car model, especially the R2. Give them a year or two to get the production ramp issues smoothed out. Otherwise I don't think you will be very happy. This is manufacturing 101. There are always more issues in the first year than the second...
All my fingers and toes crossed that most of the cool things about the R2 make it into the Gen3 R1.
I wonder if the new cells in the R2 will mean a bigger max pack in the Gen3 R1? I will pay for it, Rivian!
