All android apps have a general on/off like you described, but they usually have not options in the app to choose which notifications you want. I have the overall notifications on, but receive nothing. I even set off the alarm a month ago to see if I'd get something...and nothing happened after...
I actually looked at the # of app downloads on each app store and they were almost the same. I was expecting to see 90/10 Apple/Android which might explain the lack of app features for Android.
That is simply a "allowed" or "not allowed" and it is already on. There are no options in the app itself like iPhone has (and similar to Tesla's) to choose which ones you want.
As per Rivian themselves, the app does not support notifications. I really only need the charging updates ones...
How is this possible? 1.5 years after the R1T launch and Android users (50% of the overall app downloads) still don't have basic notifications such as charging stopped, charging finished, alarm, etc. I just bugged Rivian customer service again and they said the same thing as back in...
I had this same thing happen with Tesla a year ago. It required the car be factory reset after 4 days of back and forth with customer service because they could not turn off service mode remotely. And the really fun part was that I found out the car was in service mode when I picked it up from...
This is where I have used it 75% of the time. It works on I-5 all the way from Seattle to the border without issues for me. I just pull the stalk twice to turn it on the moment I get on the freeway.
I sent an email to Rivian customer service months ago asking for notifications to be added to the mobile app (charging started, stopped, completed, etc). I finally received a response stating that the app already sends notifications for those...but it does not. I just chatted with Rivian support...
I have plugged the quick 220 with one leg straight into the outlet and the other on a 100 foot 10 gauge extension cord. No issues at all. When charging on 240v, the total voltage is what matters.
As an example, think of one plug getting 118 volts on a short extension cord and the other getting...
I can't comment on my R1S sleeping outside (since I always garage my cars), but I had a lemoned and completely disabled 2023 Model X that Tesla took 8 months to come tow out of my alley. I don't know if it could have been cleaned enough. So much sap had fallen that you could not make out...
For this particularly setup (NEMA 5-20) can I just plug the stock Rivian NEMA 14-50 into this adapter and just manually set amps to 16?
There is a light post 5-20 plug at my work, and if I can take advantage of that extra juice over 10 hour shifts, that would be a nice added benefit.
Or do you...
Yep! Here you go: https://www.rivianforums.com/forum/threads/charging-a-rivian-from-various-outlets-tried-120v-through-the-14-50-mobile-charger-too.15746/
It's not required to type, but it is required to use your voice once you are driving. I rarely do that because it is less accurate. I type in destinations into my nav all the time, and I want myself and a passenger to be able to do that while the vehicle is in drive. Carplay does not allow it...
Can't type on any of those while driving. Can't use offline maps via voice without service. Can't navigate unless you set the destination while you have service. The issues are endless.
After driving a rental car with carplay for a few days this past weekend, I was so happy to go back to the Rivian's entertainment system. Why be stuck with a slow interface that takes time to connect, is slow over Bluetooth unless you plug in your phone, and does not let you type in address or...
