My favorite part about the Reddit thread is the owners comments that reservation was done āa while agoā¦.to the point where I was taken aback when I got the pingā¦.ā
You mean itās possible to preorder a car, not obsess over its delivery date and thenā¦ā¦just get it? Weird. ?
Respectfully, I think expecting Rivian to go from dead standstill to full capacity in six months isā¦ā¦.overly optimistic, letās say. They are not going to be operating at max capacity of 60-65k vehicles annually by June 2022, IMO.
So if the rest of your numbers are correct, and it takes...
I have thought the same thing. A few inches of extra storage space seems completely inconsequential. I would pick the 7 seater all day, just to have them.
I still cannot believe they are priced the same.
Sorry, this is what I was referring to:

I probably should have included an emoji to make clear I was just needling you. I fully understand my comment applies to things far bigger than Tesla.
Having said all of that, and without any comment on the Cybertruck itself, Teslaās fanboys would drive anything offered to them by Elon...
I see large masses of people collectively doing head scratching things allllllllllllll the time. Citing a mob as a basis for validationā¦ā¦.not from me.
I agree with you, at least to an extent. I would also guess Q3 of ā23 for recent preorders. I think Rivian can probably shave some time off from their current projections, but months, only.
I bet some of the dates are going to be much later than people expect. I can already feel the angst amongst the people that get āJune-July 2023ā projections.
I have to ask - if Rivian released its S1 right after your deposit and then amended it several times thereafter, and in all of its disclosures it indicates needing until the end of 2023 to clear the current reservation backlog, why would you (or anyone for that matter) expect a recent preorder...
Nothing will surprise me related to EV distribution, especially as it relates to Rivian. So I agree with you there.
My comment is more related to expectations. Will we see some specific configurations being delivered before earlier placed reservations? Sure. I would fully expect that. But...
And thatās fair. If someone is projecting a conservative estimate, I get it. But itās one thing to cut a few months off in hoping Rivian is being conservative and thinking you will get a vehicle in mid 2023, versus cutting a year off in hopes of getting a vehicle in late 2022. The former is...
Agree with this. If Rivian is telling the world (through its S-1 amendments) that its backorder will not clear until the end of 2023, I do not understand why anyone would think, having just placed an order in the last week/month, that he/she will take receipt of a vehicle before late 2023/early...
