Wouldn’t this “issue” be somewhat less pressing in the R1Ts, where you have the option to add a full size spare, as opposed to the S’s, where a condensed spare is your only option? I agree that the 21” wheel size is unique and could be an issue in an emergency. However, if you have a full size...
Completely agree with this. In fact, I intentionally cancelled my preorder and then re-ordered to move way down the list. I would like to see a year of preorders on the road with feedback from owners before I go forward and pull the trigger.
I would imagine. I would fully expect that late 2021 reservations will be mid to late 2023 deliveries. Rivian, in their most recent S1 amendment, indicated a goal of “late 2023“ for clearing all of the placed preorders. I would expect the S1 would represent their most realistic timetables.
I believe the most recent S1 indicated a clearance of the preorders by 2023, not 2022. Per the S1, “Based on our current production forecast, we expect to fill our preorder backlog of approximately 55,400 R1 vehicles by the end of 2023.”...
I’m in the same boat you are in. I am hoping for early to mid-2023; that’s my sweet spot. So while I feel for everyone who is disappointed by the delayed timetables, for those of us who were hoping to skip 2022 entirely not the worst news.
I’ve really never understood this take. It assumes that, once past a certain monetary/budget threshold, common sense no longer matters. Why would I set fire to $8,000.00, just because I can “afford” to? Whether it’s another watch, more money in the kids’ 529, or whatever else I choose to use...
I asked this question to CS this week. I was told in park mode the R1S is under 73”. (It was like 72.7, or something). In “sport mode,” which was explained to me as the lowest driveable mode for the R1S, the vehicle was under 74”. (Again, it was like 73.6” or something). My garage ”lip” is...
The Tank Turn is a products liability nightmare for Rivian. Not sure how many other attorneys there are on the board, but would love to see if they agree. There is absolutely a foreseeable risk that the design creates a dangerous situation for the end line consumer. I cannot imagine the...
