Only reason is REI sells the exped and I prefer to buy from REI if possible. And the brand is more well known and famous so I would pay extra for the peace of mind. But I might have got the Lost Horizon if I am buying now since multiple people have said it’s great.

For the R1S, how high is that wooden platform and what mattresses would be compatible with it? I find my Exped Megamat is already hard to sit up and headspace is at a premium.

I was also debating the Exped MegaMat Auto, but was hard to find one.

How do you like the LOSTHORIZON mattress? I was hesitant to get it since it was built for Model Y. I got the Exped Duo 10 instead.

Congrats! I can definitely agree with you there on the sound system. I received my R1S in Oct and my wife and I are still disappointed with how the sound system sounds. I want to create a service request for the Rivian service center to look at the speakers, because it is so bad we're half...

I too went camping and slept in the R1S with the family. Main drawback was lack of vertical space, we couldn't sit up at all, we used the Exped Duo 10.

On a related note, I was always grumbling that Rivian didn't have a way to make phone calls from the screen like the Tesla does. Realized it is there after all, you can swipe up to expand the dock to show more apps from the bottom. I found Camp Mode from there too!
