I’ve gone once for a tire rotation (Garner location off of 401) and it was a good experience. They didn’t have much experience with Rivians at the time but their system definitely had all the necessary details for them to follow. Since they are the “official” Rivian servicer at the moment, I...
Hey Carolina’s Rivian Club - just wanted to bump this thread to the top of the feed and let the group know that I had a really good experience working with Scott and his capable crew getting my rock sliders installed. Scott had all the right equipment and a great team there to help. Since the...
You can’t add to the lock screen itself, but it can be added to the far left screen (left of Home Screen, I forgot what Apple calls it) which is accessible when the phone is locked. Add it there and a quick swipe to the left, even while locked, will get you to all the controls. It’s not...
Hey @Bf3 - I’m signed up for the Interrobang emails but I know you mentioned you don’t use that distribution list much. I thought I would check in on the progress of these enhancements you were working on back in December. Would an order today be the “new and improved” version?
How was the range? My soft sand experience gave me about 1/6 of the normal range. Granted I was hitting it pretty hard but still, 1/6 (so, about 0.3-0.5 mi/kWh) was pretty disappointing and makes my annual trips to the NC Outer Banks pretty close to infeasible without some sacrifice. Next time...
@swflor Yes! Thanks for checking in. The rails were delivered this past Friday but I’ve only had time to peek in the box. I’ll text you shortly to see about getting together on an install. Weekend free time (well, free-to-me) is slim these days.
Thanks for the post, Scott. How do you feel about installing or helping me install the Megawatt rock sliders? Mine are being delivered Friday

I had the same problem since day one, had it “fixed” or replaced at my first service visit but it still happens even after the repair. Small rare earth/neodymium magnets probably would work best but I wish that kind of rigging wasn’t necessary.
I know of at least one place in Raleigh if you end up not finding what you want in Charlotte. I did the full wrap, all panels and lights, it was about $5k if I recall. I don’t know what this place would charge for the equivalent of what Rivian offers (just the front I assume?).
The place is...
Interesting - hope I’m not looking at a symptom of a larger issue then. But sounds like your two issues weren’t related, just coincidentally the same type of problem. Thanks for the response, I’ll get to tinkering!
Hey there - wondering if you ever got an answer or resolution here? I have the exact same problem, driver side LED strip in truck bed is out and I’d rather fix it myself than schedule mobile visit (I’m 3hrs from service center). Thanks!
Ahhhh - ok thank you for the clarification. I like the flamed finish for sure, but it sounds like only the side support pieces would come in that finish and not the entire unit? Just wanted to be sure I understand the final deliverable
Thanks!
@Thunderbolt Adventure this looks like a great build, seems like you've thought through a lot of the "gotchas" already. I'm very interested and see that a lot of my questions have already been asked and answered, but I didn't see anything about the "flamed" color. I looked up the technique and...
There are a lot of comments and threads about this topic. If you end up relying on generator, you'll need 1) to ensure it's an inverter generator (mentioned previously) plus 2) some adapters to ensure the truck recognizes that the power is clean and grounded. See this thread for a ton of back...
I'm in Raleigh and have had a mobile service (which was fantastic, those guys are sharp) and also been to the service center in Richmond (1.5hr drive). Although my work was simple, the service center had to keep it many days just because of their backlog, so they paid for an Enterprise Rental...
Same - when they have a blue, red or yellow...I'm buying.
But also for the benefit of this thread, I've had this long flat bag since the very beginning and it's absolutely perfect for the stuff you'd keep in there daily. You can easily slide it out (almost like the shuttle), drop a bag or...
I would definitely recommend this brand, AC Works, from Amazon. I've bought two of them and they seem "smarter" than the cheap ones you get from hardware store. My R1T wouldn't recognize those but these AC Works adapters work perfectly. They're more expensive though, of course...
another +1 from me for the Condor Overland. I too have the 1st gen and love what they've improved with the 2nd gen. Those inflatables look intriguing by the Condor Overland's aluminum shell and t-tracks for mounting gear are more valuable to me.
@kylealden with only a few trips on mine, I...
