You can lock phone, fob, or keycard in the vehicle - you just have to manually lock it with a phone or the fob. It will not automatically lock if the phone or fob is in the vehicle. I do it all the time - did it trail running yesterday. Took my fob and locked the phone in the vehicle.
I never rely solely on my phone. Fob goes everywhere I do. Didn't even think about PAK when I wiped and traded in my phone at the Apple store. I set up my new phone an hour later when I got home.
Add that to the list of reasons a fob is useful.
On my second Rivian. Gen 1 was great, gen 2 has 28 days in service over 4 months of ownership. I would not currently buy another one until they show clear improvements in their quality control - both coming out of the factory and in update deployment. Have a reservation for a Scout which will...
If Rivian is not being cooperative, consult with a lemon law attorney - they'll give you a free analysis of what they're legally obligated to per your state's laws. You can then decide if you want them to persue it for you (probably easier if you're pushing for a buyback, since legal fees would...
They both exist still (I see both relatively frequently) - you'd be surprised at the shitty car washes in some parts of the country. Even with the cloth strip ones, you're at the mercy of the car wash owner maintaining the wash and the debris coming off the cars who used it before you.
High...
The blog summary was definitely trying to sensationalize the article and was inaccurate. Another direct quote from the article in response to Porsche and Audi's delays - "Volkswagen counters that Rivian is working according to plan. There are no models that have been postponed because of...
I don't think full replacement of Cariad was the plan, rather phase out of ICE by 2030-2035 and limping along existing Cariad until then was.
The article says Blume "...calculated that only a few more cars with Cariad software would be launched on the market, while the rest seemed to have been...
I think that's a pretty good summary. What I got out of it is how much more complex the demands on the VW side of the JV are. VW CEO Blume is banking on the JV to meet the needs of many very different brands, each with unique wants and needs. It does sound like everything is going along to plan...
It's based on an in depth article by a German publication. It's pay-walled, but I paid the 1 euro for it and it's well worth it. I haven't finished reading it but it goes in depth into the relationship from the beginning to where it currently stands...
Yeah, this is Apple's strongpoint - embedding their products tightly into their ecosystem. You pair it once and it just works. Samsung and Google are trying, but Apple still is superior here.
Posted in another thread, but I was informed by the CO Springs SC that the new one in Centennial/Englewood should be online in the next 60 days. They're also supposed to have night shift for techs as well - so should be a lot of capacity. Also, a Louisville one is coming as well - don't know...
Isn't it normal for degradation to be more pronounced during the initial charge cycles and then to level out to a slower rate? Google seems to confirm that's true, but I'm not a battery expert, just follow way too much content on EV's.
I have just never had an issue accessing charging at hotels that offer it. Only issue is sometimes hotels advertise this benefit loosely. Had a hotel in Lawrence, KS that the staff didn't know they advertised EV charging on their website. Called their manager and turned out there were 2...
If you have a space nearby, pop in there. Someone will be happy to fill that sales rep role there in my experience. They can provide additional incentives to push the sale over the finish line.
Mine has consistently been selecting heat rather than cool for the cool Colorado mountain mornings since I arrived a couple of weeks ago. Definitely seems improved.
