I tethered the Wi-Fi to my phone just to check that any connectivity would work. I was able to get it to connect and work normally right away. But after disconnecting, I was immediately off-line again. When I check my phone, I see that it briefly connected after that and has been down again for...
I woke up this morning with the notification update.. I confirmed.. and 7% into the update the app stopped updating
that was 7:30am PST.. it is now 3pm and still hasn't returned..
I was worried that the update had somehow bricked my TCM, but now it seems it might be telecom related which...
I would of thought SW update was part of the PDI, and I can see there is the Rivian SSID saved in the screen.
so either it was already failing and they didn't care or bother troubleshooting it.
it's running on July's software and so far I haven't been able to trigger an update yet, and after...
I took delivery today of my QM motor
the software is ancient 2023.36 (and for some reason not detecting any updates I hope it's not the 12V from sitting around so long at the SC)
and 3 issues with fit and finish (rear bumper doesn't sit right, arm rest leather is damaged, B-pillar plastic is...
awesome photos and nice setup!
I did an LA-ZION-Flagstaff-Tucsan loop a few years ago, Horseshoe bend is a sight to behold.
Definately taking advantage of that rigs capabilities
Yeah I hear you, but in the ICE world usually more power= mechanical differences like bigger turbo, cams, more displacement, larger fuel system, better cooling etc etc. (although there may be examples of OEM's simply running a more agressive tune on the ECM) but in the ICE world you can often...
the one thing I definitely liked and had me hesitant about switching was the dual motor was noticeably quieter and more efficient than quad, and has much better cooling design than the QM making it better at working under sustained loads.
also it takes into account "lessons learned" from the...
thank you sir, it's been an ordeal,
After switching my Guide (shout out to Michael) it was totally a different experience.
since it's already in stock at the SC, I can pick it up thurs morning.
but now I have to redo my insurance cuz it's a new VIN number and restart the 15 day underwriting...
Thank you sir! love the green/yellow combo.. reminds me of Lotus!
I hope you put some jack stands under your truck! that's a whole heap of weight to balance on jack stands
I know its a little off topic since this thread is about standard battery trucks
but:
My original build was $78k (Dual motor perf. With S+ battery)
After finding out that both of those features are software locks and still uses the same battery chemistry a lot of my incentive was lost. Plus...
I ended up going with a 2023 QM in the end for several reasons.
when they email me a contract I will have more details than just the online calculator and let you know.
correct when I go to the website and pick one there,
the DAS is $1,700..
my new guide added a 2023 QM that qualified for the lease promotion.
the DAS is $4,700 the same as my 2024 DM
it seemed to be the $3,000 discrepancy was the discount..
my guide says that the calculator number is wrong...
I've been trying to change my order from the 2024 DM to a leftover 2023 QM in stock at the local SC.
the DAS on the site says $1,700
for me on the contract it wants $4,700
when I asked where's the 3k discount? he said he knows nothing about it. made it sound like it's case by case and can't...
After terrible presales service, the cost of insurance tax and fine print seeing hard numbers on paper and having to go an additional 16 days with no car exceeding the promised delivery window by weeks.
Then discovering my SC is by far the worst one in the nation and any issues with the truck...
It's very fustrating to have your truck delayed and waiting. Having your guide tell you that you can't change and you can't cancel
And now to see online 2023s that cost more than your own truck being offered for $5000 less over the 3yrs of the lease.
*Sigh*
Spoke to my Guide today,
He's saying that my Truck is at the El segundo SC under going final checks.
but since they're are swamped it's taking time and they will contact when they're ready to hand it over.
is there anyone out there who actually has a Standard battery truck in their possession...
I dunno how they determine the prices tbh, my address didn't change, no claims, Im in my 40's and somehow it's shot up 50%..
I dunno if it's an LA vs OC thing are you bundling anything?
Shame about the MSDs that can make a big difference to the bottom line.
Insurance wise:
I am currently with progressive.
The Etron was $750 for 6 months
Rivian:
Rivian insurance: $2,200(after stripping it down)
Progressive: $2,300
Statefarm: $2,500
In the end I went with Geico after I...
After my purchase process opened yesterday,
I submitted my license plate picture, registration and insurance from my leased car
everything is still pending for approval.
The cost of the insurance was the real shocker.. between the cost of the vehicle and the insurance its become relatively...
