I wouldn’t consider myself anti-EA — I’m strongly in favor of as many charging solutions as possible. But I am an EA realist and what @Aag12 experienced is far from the worst. He’s one of those who had a good experience with EA.
Well that’s new! When I tried back in June Rivian was not in their system. Unfortunately here in Bend Safelite only offers mobile service from Eugene and the wait can be 2-3 weeks depending upon their workload.
Sorry, I never got a written quote, just a verbal estimate over the phone. I told them I’d keep trying to find a local glass shop that would do a repair.
It was a small chip, less than the size of a dime. I only called the SC cuz none of the local glass repair chains would touch it until the R1T was listed in their computers. When I heard Rivian’s quote (verbal only) I decided to keep trying the local glass shops.
Within a week of my delivery I experienced a sizable stone chip in my windshield. Since the R1T was so new, no glass shop had it listed in their computer so they refused to work on it. My last resort was a little mom & pop glass repair shop that used a jewelers loupe to inspect the glass...
I quite agree that most forums can begin to sound like gripe sessions and one can come away with a very negative impression. Compounding the problem is the fact that posting something positive gets one labeled as a “fanboi“ thus discouraging positive comments.
I think if we separate those...
I followed your blog about your trip to the Midwest this past summer and I’m glad you had favorable experiences charging, but to just ignore the overwhelming collective experience of others with regard to EA isn’t helpful. At least admit the possibility that not everyone was as fortunate as you...
It would be nice if Rivian displayed an error msg or icon to explain that the protection circuitry has been tripped. Otherwise doing a hard reset is just a WAG.
When I switched from 21’s to 20’s I was told recalibration was included in the price. I was also told I would have to bring my truck to the service center, not for the wheel change, but for the recalibration. When I pointed out that entailed a 3 hr drive for me they told me in that case the...
I have not, but then trailer sway can be mitigated by loading the trailer properly. As several YouTube videos have demonstrated, overloading the rear of the trailer can cause even minor sway to quickly get out of control.
In my case the R1T is the perfect true work truck. I typically haul large loads such as gravel, sand or lumber and for these loads I use my 10,000 hydraulic trailer. Such loads don’t fit in the bed of any pickup as well as a heavy duty trailer. With 4 independent drive wheels the R1T handles...
Yeah, I was hoping to get thru my first winter with the 21” OEM Pirelli’s but the first ice storm we had changed my mind. Slid all over the road. Immediately ordered the 20” AT’s from Rivian and have been pretty happy with them. I’m not sure they perform as well as the Blizzaks or Hakkas but...
Depends. Back in the day I used PlugShare extensively (you may notice some of the chargers on backroads were listed by me) and TripPlanner as well. Then ABRP came along and it was supported much better than TripPlanner so I began using it. Of course, I always depended upon Tesla’s in-car nav...
