News letter from Rivian. Lots of good information…
Lets Start the Journey
We want to kick off the month of April by providing our Pre-order community with the information that you have been so patiently waiting on. We thank you for supporting us from the very start and we look forward to...
Not sure if this has been discussed in this thread but I chatted with CS today (Ruby) and they told me that the screen behind the steering wheel is also a touch screen... Of course when I asked how it would be utilized I got the standard "more details to come on that soon..."
As far as I...

-ON THE ROAD-
We are building the Rivian Adventure Network — a nationwide network of DC fast chargers capable of adding up to...
It's becoming clear that EPA ranges vary widely from real world range depending on the manufacturer. So what is your prediction for Rivian. Will they fluff their numbers, get pretty close, or exceed the EPA range? Make your prediction above!
Edit: For clarification this is just asking what you...
Back off topic again - YouTube Music has gotten better. You no longer have a shared watch history. Only the search history seems to be shared. You might get some weird looks if you recently searched for "Hot Legs" on youtube music from your phone and then someone sees your search history on your...
Probably would be terrible for the tires. In the Tank Turn short clip there was mud flying everywhere. The way I think about it is that the mud was going everywhere because it was softer that the tires that were spinning on it. If you do it on pavement then the tires or gonna be the softest part...
As of today Customer Service says...
"Yes, all Rivian vehicles with quad motors can tank turn. The R1T and R1S will have this capability at launch.
Also, I make it a point to ask about test drives everytime I talk to CS and today they said they are hoping to have an event in Normal (and other...
This must be an early April fool's joke. Everyone knows Rivian doesn't make official announcements. It isn't "soon" or even "very soon" yet.
All jokes aside this sounds pretty awesome!
If we can't get more info from Rivian soon I'm going to make an R1T cardboard cutout, paint it RJ Blue, craft some paper mache wheels, then strap it over my shoulders and start runing to work Fred Flinstone style everyday.
Georgia is one of the few states that doesn't have a mask mandate. People need to take a serious look at the data and facts before they decide to disregard the CDCs recommendations. In the study that just was published they found that mask mandates make a real difference.
The data is a little...
I'm not sure if anyone else would be interested in this but I think it would be awesome if LEGO and Rivian partnered up to bring LEGO versions of the R1T and R1S to market. LEGO recently did this with the Land Rover Defender and I think it'd be pretty awesome for them to do the same with...
Let's take it a step further... I think that in order to avoid the "damped" vs "dampened" discussion coming up again we should hence forth refer to the tailgate mechanism as a "moistening" device.
I must say, that's a very nice moistened tailgate your R1T has.
Now nobody is happy.
I picked maintenance because I think the next thing we will hear will be finalized specs and other important details that they need to get out of the way before they start finalizing orders. My guess is a press release type email with information on EPA range, new vehicle warranty, and service...
I think we have learned a lot about the efficiency of these vehicles. Stick with me. In the article on stories.rivian.com they say
Edit: I realize now that this info was already available on the FAQ of Rivian's site... But the rest of this is still useful I think.
Now from the leak yesterday...
Based on this shot I am very worried about glare on the instrument panel screen... Hopefully it won't be a problem.
However, I wonder if the reason it is so close to the driver is because it's a touch screen that you can interact with. I doubt it but it'd be interesting to see how that would...
I like the high speed puddle run clip. Sarcasm incoming... From what I understand Tesla has a patent on "Bumper ejection during high resistance scenarios" like driving through a small puddle at speed. I think it's meant to make the car more efficient and increase range in those types of...
