  1. Glamping with R1T + roof top tent + ???

Lol I cant take credit for the rug. My better half brought one home on clearance from World Market and said "this would tie the campsite together" (in her best Lebowski impression). Rest is history... It rolls up and we load it up top on the roof rack or we use it to wrap the gear in the back...
  2. Fridge freezer options.

I don't have direct experience with fridge/freezers but definitely looking to get one for our rig soon. I'm eyeing Dometic units specifically.
  3. Off-roading Newb Question

Same... anxious to get my hands on wheel and see what she can do... would love to to do a "Rivians in the Rockies" event when we all get our rigs!
  4. Introductions! Drop in and say hello new and old members...

Hello all! I have an R1S preorder from way back in Mar 2021. Looking for the Adventure / Offroad / 20" AT wheels combo in my driveway. My daily is a Tacoma DC and fun/camping rig is an H3. I can't wait to hear the customer experiences and reviews as deliveries begin (s00n).
  5. Glamping with R1T + roof top tent + ???

One thing that we added to our loadout for camping is a decent sized outdoor rug. I think ours is 4x8 and is big enough for our camp kitchen/table and let's you kick off the shoes without getting super dirty feet
  6. Off-roading Newb Question

If you hear someone yell "Hold my beer!" Stay clear! Seriously though a lot of sound advice given here on getting off the paved path. Get with a local 4x4 group and get in line and learn what you can do. Trust your spotter and learn to be spot for others. DO NOT GO ALONE. I try and hit up...
  7. More adventure Vehicles coming

I totally agree but I think this niche market for adventure vehicles leans more to the built vs bought folks that have specific use case solutions. Some will use established base platforms (Jeeps/MB Sprinters) or custom ground up frames for buggies. Most crawlers will talk your ear off for...
  8. Yakima Slim Shady Awning questions

Less than 10mins (at a casual pace) for RTT and half that for awning. Usually takes more time finding a spot and level the rig out than deploy camp. What feels level in the rig is much different than in the RTT when you have your spouse and a pup in there with you. (Think of how the RTT is...
  9. Yakima Slim Shady Awning questions

Also found a clip of us teaching our smallest pup (40lbs) on how to get into the RTT. She loves it when she sees the RTT deployed. Yoga mat + carpet floor mats work well.
  10. Yakima Slim Shady Awning questions

Just noticed this thread and have some input that could be helpful. I have the 3person Yakima RTT and the SlimShady mounted to my H3 for camping and overlanding. We have no issues opening passenger doors when the RTT is deployed and I don't suspect an R1T would be any different. The awning...
