  1. EV use can be more expensive than gas

Not so in my case. My R1T was purchased as a supplement to my Silverado Duramax which is also a very heavy vehicle with poor tire life. Therefore, EV tire replacement cost is not a factor in my situation. Brian
  2. R1T awesome in May 28 Dallas Storm

Thank you for sharing that. Glad you made it OK. Brian
  3. Living With The Chevy Silverado EV For (Almost) A Week

Chevrolet made their first truck in 1918. They should be able to get it right. I look forward to getting my hands on one. Brian
  4. Received an email after I picked up my R1T saying I have 1 year of free RAN charging?

Don't feel bad. We are some of the very earliest adopters (11/28/2018). We got no perks whatsoever. We love the truck anyway. Brian

  6. Gear Guard Animation Too Cartoonish?

Regardless of the complaints about Gary leaning toward the silly, he still provides an essential service. We like Gary and would vote that he remain as our "guardian creature ". Brian
  7. Any updates on receiving the Tesla charging adapter?

That would mean that high number VINs would have their adapter about ten years from now. That seems pretty stupid on Rivian's part. Brian
  8. Living With The Chevy Silverado EV For (Almost) A Week

Even though we are really big R1T fan boys, we love the configuration of the new Silverado EV. As we all know, the Silverado EV is actually a Chevrolet Avalanche (2001-2013) with electric motors. The Avalanche was a great and very versatile design. We always wanted one, but it was too light to...

  10. Electric Land Rover Defender

This is really exciting EV technology. Hub electric motors are getting better and better. This concept was developed by the electric bicycles and one wheel scooter boards. This concept makes retrofitting of ICE vehicles as EV's a reality. The removal of an ICE engine may provode the space for a...
  11. R1T Tonneau Covers

We have the Lomax trifold tonnea. It looks great. It is secure and waterproof. It is far better than anything that Rivian has made thus far, manual or motorized. Brian
  12. Conflict at the Supercharger

I would also like to see some sort of extension cable and simply avoid any drama. Life is too short to get into a confrontation over charging an EV. I would like to see EV charging locations as a friendly places where EVers can share their automotive interests. Brian
  13. Random Rivian Photos of the Day - Post Yours! 📸

  14. Living With The Chevy Silverado EV For (Almost) A Week

Thank you so much for this writeup. I am currently on my 8th Chevrolet Truck. My current Silverado is a 2020 Duramax bohimith. Of course, I have been eyeing the Silverado EV. It appears that it is not quite ready to be my primary tow vehicle. I'm waiting for the greater payload and the...
  15. Hurricane evacuation - Rivian versus ICE truck

We are lifelong Floridians. We have lived in Miami, Tallahassee, Jacksonville, and Santa Rosa Beach. We are quite familiar with storms and hurricanes. We have lived very close to the Gulf of Mexico in the western Florida Panhandle for the past 29 years. We have gone through 3 major hurricanes...

it is always heart warming to see good things happen to good people. Brian
  17. Camp speaker advice

We have never gotten our Camp speaker to work at all. Rivian did about as good with the Camp Speaker as they did with the Motorized Tonneau Cover. Brian
