  1. Apple & Rivian Reportedly in Partnership Talks

I'm with you. All Apple products control you; you don't control them. I don't think that I want a truck that controls me. If Apple takes control of Rivian, I'll be headed back to Chevrolet. Brian
  2. What's happening in the EV charging market?

I also have some thoughts on these issues and the future directions of the EV world. I am sorry to hear that Free Wire is folding. I believe that the concept is sound and could be the future of the EV infrastructure. Tesla's dropping of its Supercharger team is perplexing. Then again, many...
  3. Question on Charging at Tesla SC

When using a Tesla Supercharger on my Rivian with an adapter, what is the correct order of insertion? Do you plug the adapter into the Rivian and then plug in from the Supercharger, or do you plug the Supercharger cord into the adapter, and then plug into the Rivian? Brian
  4. I just got an r1s recently but i am very bummed to find out that there is a refresh with lots of improvements coming

Be cautious of what you wish for. The refreshed R1 may lose some features since the purpose of the refresh is to reduce production cost. Brian
  5. Failed Tesla Charging Attempt-Help Please

Don't feel bad. There is a significant learning curve to this EV stuff. That's what this Forum is for. It is here to help us get through this conversion to a new automotive technology. Brian
  6. New upcoming Rivian Service Centers? Expanded Mobile Service coverage area?

It sure would be nice to see something in the 800 mile Jacksonville to Houston gap. Brian
  7. R1T's shipping with Powered Tonneau Covers?

Please keep us posted on the tonneau cover performance. Brian
  8. Crazy idea with a bit of "summon" baked in

A little California Dreaming, but a very cool thought. Brian
  9. Can the Rivian Push Notification be customized?

I don't get this notification at home either. My home location is set in my navigation. Brian
  10. First towing experience with my R1T. Uhaul 5X8 and camper shell installed.

Great report. Thank you for taking the time to share this information with us. Brian
  11. Any leaks around 2024.15 yet?

For a relatively new automobile manufacturer, Rivian has this software update routine down very well. I don't think that any other car company matches Rivian in this area. It is really nice when Opal gets an update sitting right in her parking spot at home. I know that we all sit here on the...
  12. Garage Control on sterering wheel gone????

Opal is operating on 2024.11.02. I have a total of nine garage door openers on her system. Five of these are shown on the driver screen with the proximity feature. So far, so good. All are operating as designed. Rivian has a very nice GDO system. In my Silverado, I have the three button Home...
  13. Guess what I found

That's our Publix in Santa Rosa Beach. We are often there with Opal but missed that show. Brian
  14. Next gen Rivians should NEVER have the charge port in the rear!

Our ten year old Airstream that has two places to plug in 30 amp power. One is at the left front; the other is at the left rear. This makes hooking up at the campground very convenient regardless of the power outlet location. Ev's (including Rivian) should be set up this way to avoid all of...
  15. Any leaks around 2024.15 yet?

Opal has 2024.11.02. We have not noticed any problems yet, although we rarely use the map. Brian
  16. Native NACS Charger Overrated?

I wouldn't be too concerned about waiting for Rivian to install a native NACS charging port. That might leave you without a Rivian for another year or two. Adapters are very easy to use and part of the EV world. Don't deprive yourself while waiting for not much. Brian
  17. NACS Adapters now shipping…s00nish!

I can't wait to actually see one in someone's hand. The first receiver must post pictures. Brian
  18. 7500 mile service worth doing?

We have had Opal (our R1T) for a little over a year now. She has 6,700 miles on her. We have no intention of getting the 7,500 mile multipoint inspection. We are still over 300 miles from the nearest Rivian Service Center. We thought that Rvian would have improved their service capability by...
  19. Driver Screen Settings: Did You Know

I agree with all and have been asking for these things for several years. I would like to see at least 4 trip odometer. Brian
  20. New upcoming Rivian Service Centers? Expanded Mobile Service coverage area?

Thanks for that information. Even the two new ones in Florida are still further than Atlanta. I was hoping for some expansion of the Mobile Service. Brian
