It might be some random app on backend, but in the interface it just presents as "Radio"
Hat tip to @RivianTrackr having this up in his R2/RivianOS 2.0 video.
The criteria that Rivian has mentioned publiclly is readable at R2 Launches June 9 by Rivian - Rivian Stories | Electric Vehicle Adventures. But there are for sure other factors that they take into account internally (how many they can get onto rail cars to get out to far-away locations, how...
Yeah, it's a bit funky isn't it?
That being said, if it opens up the market for small EV trucks in a good way, I'm all for it. More small trucks in the world is a good thing (in place of unnecessarily big trucks!)
The R1 vehicles have very big batteries, which when using a standard 120v, 15amp outlet (aka 'Level 1') will take a long time to charge.
It's best to stop thinking in "miles", as it's not a unit of capacity. Gas tanks aren't measured in miles, they are measured in gallons. The unit of capacity...
At least those aren't the text messages that I get for a completely different person (my name is, in fact, not Katherine), trying to let me know that I can have a $59/month car payment.
On the Reddit post from yesterday the user proceeded to explain how it happened. The main points were that Rivian called him to see if he was able to speed thru the process & commit to picking up yesterday.
Borealis shows as available starting in September on the design page now (and from other reports). Never hurts to keep an eye on the design page to see if changes come in...
I don't have a link, but there was a post on r/Rivian showing an R2 in a persons garage. Not an influencer that I'm aware of, but they got a call earlier from Rivian asking if they were ready to purchase and take delivery.
To note, this only applies to Gen2 R1's and one would guess R2. Gen 1 R1's controls for Driver+/Highway Assist/ACC have not changed.
If I was, it would make the last will and testament I signed yesterday pretty useless.
I thought that something like this was reported when the deal with Uber was announced, as that I'm sure added some costs in for Rivian (developing a robotaxi version of R2 isn't gonna be free I'm sure....).
Gen1 R1's still have a follow-distance that is directly set-able. Granted, I don't know what the measurements are in actual units, but there are specific indicators that get put on the display when you activate ACC.
