I'm about to find this out next week. Note the Rivian manual says that jacking directly on the frame rails is approved. Rock sliders expose the frame rails as well as (in many cases) the puck holes. I'm assuming the real problem is that Rivian uses a lift that assumes their own specific jack...
You already said it before, several times. Most people are driving 75 and you're driving 55.
As you said, most energy is lost to air resistance. Air resistance at 75mph is almost twice as much as at 55. So energy use should be at least 50% higher, i.e. 2.8 mi/kWh at 55mph would equate to 1.9...
Yes, and camp mode, but I would still expect to lose at least 3-4% per day even WITHOUT using any outlets or HVAC. Turning on the heat overnight could be use to 10% battery in my experience even if it's not all that cold.
You're talking about #4 and the cut off number (presumably #8)? What does the gray versus yellow indicate here?
Also wondering, assuming gray is indicating part of the airbag system, how the situation is different for the A pillar versus the existing OEM grab handles above the driver and...
My guess is 200-400. Rivian discontinued CY in September 2023, when R1S VIN numbers were around 20,000. A poll on here found 1-2% of vehicles were CY. Not sure about yellow R1Ts, maybe 500-1000?
Sell all three ICE vehicles and buy an R1S. Done, done, and done.
Seriously though, nobody knows details on R2 yet, and you haven't given us much to go on, so there's nothing to say ... but yes, talking about R2 is fun while we wait...
Kinda makes sense because wheels and tires make up some % of the surface area of the vehicle, maybe not 10%, but could be more than 5%, and they're spinning around.
On the other hand, the 10% number doesn't mean much on its own. For example if the most efficient possible wheel drops that 10% to...
Just to support this, the air resistance should be 35% less than at 75mph (60/75)^2. Since most of the energy is going to air resistance at this speed, let's say energy consumption is 25% lower. That would turn 2.3 mi/kWh at 75mph into 3.0 mi/kWh at 60mph. Made up numbers but just to show.
Man, I really want to like the camp speaker, but I just can't get the thing to consistently work. Are people installing software updates for theirs through the vehicle? I may ask Rivian support before my two years is up soon.
Probably not actually. The Pirelli are 34" tires and I think Duals now come with 33" Goodyear ATs that are a fair bit more efficient.
1.9 and 2.09 could be accurate for Pirelli ATs, especially at higher speeds like 75-80mph.
Sounds like it would definitely benefit you to switch out the Pirelli...
