Rivian colors always look better in person, but launch green is underwhelming to me. Far prefer Forest Green. The Emerald concept above looks great too.
So the EX60 will cost $60k (10k more than R2) and have regular suspension with 7.2" ground clearance.
The EX60 Cross Country will cost an unknown amount more, close to R1S price, and an air suspension raising ground clearance from 8" to 8.8". R2 will ship with 9.8".
Not sure what Rivian has to...
Similar issue is when all terrain tires (like the Rivian Pirellis) may be decent in several inches of snow and get a 3PMSF rating, but they do NOT have a soft compound for grip in cold and icy conditions.
You said below that you preheat but what is the battery temperature when you start the drive? (Can be found in the drive options screen) If the battery starts cold, R1 will pour a lot of energy into heating it up.
I haven’t seen any data comparison for city type driving. For highway driving, out of spec tests seem to have DM as just slightly more efficient and Budman has them about the same here: https://www.rivianforums.com/forum/threads/for-those-you-upgraded-from-1st-to-2nd-gen.51714/post-898347

No no, we were on the same page. I’m saying that 130 mile EPA difference between Gen 1 Quad large and the DM max is not real. If you put the same tires on both and especially quad in conserve, the efficiency difference is marginal and the battery pack difference is worth ~25 highway miles. So I...
I generally agree with you, but it's not anywhere near 130 more real world miles. On the highway with the same tires and conserve mode, it's probably 30-40 miles max difference in range. In city driving maybe a bit more
The specific argument here is that the federal tax incentive was propping up Rivian sales. I don't have the numbers to dispute that but I strongly doubt it. For one things, leases still got the incentive.
Furthermore if the logic is that R1 is a good buy at $72,500 but a bad buy at $80,000...
As this forum is mostly enthusiasts who know these things, your warning may not be that useful, but hopefully helpful to some. We can also provide you some info.
First, congrats on buying a great vehicle. Second, you're right, this is a misstep on Rivian's part. They should have provided an...
I thought suburbans were for once you get to 5 kids or more?
R1S has plenty of space. If you pack on the light side you can store pretty much all your luggage in the for a family of 4 in the frunk which is amazing. You can also fit a ton of stuff in the sub-trunk if you don't have a spare tire...
1. Software is fine, some features missing like voice to text and an odometer. Door auto unlock is often slow and unpredictable.
2. the car works great. No water gets in so I guess the panel gaps are fine
3. Agree with the person who said size of tires is most likely the difference (small...
