  1. Restrooms @ charging stations

We call this a “no thank you” at my house.
  2. Installing Running Boards in Eastern Massachusetts?

In the end, I did it at a friends house. He has an R1S; in have an R1T. My running boards are from EVSportline and his are EVBase. We used and a pipe to extend the ratchet wrench handle in order to loosen and tighten the torque bolts. This was tough work but we got it done. It was very...
  3. Rivian Space to open right above Massachusetts Turnpike

I’ve heard word of the Canton location from several technicians at the Chelsea center. The original location was selected to support Amazon which switch facility locations in the eleventh hour leaving Rivian in a lurch. The Chelsea center, so far as I’ve heard, was never intended to support so...
  4. R2 Compass Yellow (Colors Preview) ?

I thought Compass Yellow was 86’d. What changed?

    New England Rivian Group

What’s everyone’s plan for the eclipse? We are heading up Northern Kingdom to a friend’s land and camping out the night before. Maine Dept Inland Fisheries and Wildlife sent me a warning message with all the dont’s and none of the dos. I was impressed and disappointed at the same time.

My wife’s Taycan clears away rust with each new driving shutting off regen breaking for the first few hundred yards. Simple fix for Rivian that I’ve posted about here and elsewhere.
  7. Rivian wil not calibrate aftermarket wheels / tires

To recalibrate the onboard computer in my wife’s car, we drove for 15 minutes faster than 15 mph. Then, at the next stop, the car said, “are these new tires, if so are they:” then it gave me a list winter, summer, all season. Then it asked about sizes. Done. Easy. This is an unnecessary bit of...
  8. Chicago to Florida Roundtrip Complete!

We take long trips in our EV all the time. As OP said, stopping becomes pleasant. We don’t use the built in travel planner; we know how far we can go and so make dinner plans or shopping plans to align with charging. On our current trip, we’ve mapped out shopping districts, clean bathrooms, and...

    New England Rivian Group

I had some basic service done to my R1T the other day. The Rivian technician was a great guy. He and I chatted for a while. He told me that Rivian was caught off guard by New England demand for Rivians. He said the only reason the service center was built in Chelsea at all was because the...

PlugShare reviews are best taken with a grain of salt. Folks typically post reviews when they’re frustrated but not when things go well. Best to check the vender’s app before dismissing any EVSE.
  11. Installing Running Boards in Eastern Massachusetts?

Why did you take them off?

I’m of two minds right now. Here’s an unfocused and unclear response. I’ve made good use of the EVSE around Bangor. I’m usually heading west to Jackman so I use the Gardener ChargePoint which is decent. I really like the ChargePoint in Skowhegan at the Hannafords (get food for camping while...
  13. 10,000 miles road trip - Los Angeles to Rhode Island and back.

This was fun to read laid up with a cold. I too was enthralled by the map. I’ve driven quite a bit around Canada —Quebec and the Maritimes— and found EVSE more plentiful and reliable. What made Ontario such a mess?

Where are located? Have a friend drop you off in Portland and take the train down. What a great adventure for you and your nephew.

    Millinocket would be ideal.
  16. Free charging is good.

I spoke to customer service about this a while ago. She was empathetic but clear, they made no promise of free charging. They said that RAN would be free to Rivian owners for a few a years. Thereafter a charging fee would apply. If I wish to take advantage of this free charging, I’d have to just...
  17. Free charging is good.

Rolled up to a few free Charge Point stations this last Sunday in downtown Boston. Four of six stations were available. Two of them were occupied by PHEVs both of which were indicated as Charge Complete. One had been plugged in for 65 hours and the other for 67 hours. When I went to get my car...
  18. Oddest use of your 120V outlets?

I charged a couple of e-bikes while driving down to the waterfront. It was brilliant arriving with fully charged bike batteries.
  19. The Bolt EV lives on! Lol

I’d say she has the rare skill of admitting her mistakes and making amendments quickly. Too often brash and prideful CEOs double down on their missteps. I’ve been impressed with her leadership this far.
