  1. R1T wish list for truck purposes.

i have not seen this posted elsewhere so here goes. I went from R1S to R1T to do more truck things. First thing I noticed was how do you get into the back of this thing besides using the tunnel door as a step? -tailgate step - tailgate lift slot or auto lift -sliding window -box floor hooks -Box...
  2. No more cubbies under armrest in 3rd row. Replaced by cupholders in 2025 R1S Gen2

I think the much larger annoyance is the complete lack of cupholders in the second row with three occupants back there.
  3. Motortrend reviews 2025 R1S Quad Max (Gen 2): Quickest SUV Ever! "Cayenne Crusher, Urus Undoer, Hummer Humiliator"

A sport utility vehicle (SUV) is a car classification that combines elements of road-going passenger cars with features from off-road vehicles, such as raised ground clearance and four-wheel drive. There are very few SUV's left but the R1S qualifies, I doubt there are any quicker. It would be...
  4. Motortrend reviews 2025 R1S Quad Max (Gen 2): Quickest SUV Ever! "Cayenne Crusher, Urus Undoer, Hummer Humiliator"

So add more efficient motors & 11 kwh how could it be worse? I am fairly confident it will be better under under the same loads.
  5. 2025 Rivian R1T Tri Motor Review by Motortrend

For me up in Canada a similarly equipped TM is very nearly double the voucher price of the QM. Unless the dollar improves or a used one comes available it is extremely hard to justify & we don't even know the cost of the G2-QM I highly doubt that will happen especially considering the new large...
  6. Gen 2 R1T Tri, Gen 2 R1T Quad or Chevy Silverado EV

I would agree that the DM is likely plenty capable for towing I just have my doubts that the efficiency gain vs Tri/Quad is going to amount to much while towing my guess is 3% or less.
  7. Gen 2 R1T Tri, Gen 2 R1T Quad or Chevy Silverado EV

The range difference between different motor versions is negligible for hwy travel if using conserve. The tri/quad also have significantly more hp/tq which is king when towing. The primary variable of range while towing is kwh not how many motors. Only when there is enough of them & they are...
  8. Gen 2 R1T Tri, Gen 2 R1T Quad or Chevy Silverado EV

Except that you pretty much need to unhook your trailer every time you need to charge with the Chevy, which is not necessarily the case with the R1T.
  9. !¿ Best 20” AT Tire for Range?! ???

In going through all this I did not come across any conversation regarding 265/65r20 or 255/65r20. Any reason not to go this route? A narrower/lighter without loosing sidewall seems like a reasonable compromise for efficiency.
  10. Gen 1 Quad Large vs Gen 2 Dual Max

Do you know if the G2 Tri-M has the extended warranty similar to the G1 Quad? I heard recently that vehicles over a certain weight were exempt from the luxury tax not sure if this applies. I believe the Rivian gvwr is 3870kg...
  11. More R2 & R3X info from Pasadena Event

The lack of fold flat seats in the R3 is especially disappointing as it has less space to work with.
  12. Quebec reservation holders: will you go for a 2025 model or take the 2024 ones.

I waited too long due to various circumstances & lost my opportunity to get a MP with voucher, only large or less available in the shop on the western shore. The selection out east looks super sparse.
  13. EV Rooftop Solar Charger by GoSun

I wonder if the gains make up for the Cd efficiency losses during travel.
  14. Why is Rivian obsessed with the AT package??

Well at least they are capable, unlike all the other cars and station wagons that are marketed as SUV's but lack any sort of utility or off road ability. Should an adventure vehicle not be capable of adventuring? The AT package is the most versatile.
  15. More R2 & R3X info from Pasadena Event

The R2 probably has enough space behind front seats to sleep but the R3 definitely won't so that is a let down. .
  16. R2 Wish List?

That the R3(X) comes out first.
