Forgive me. I'm a newb and have not done a lot of road trips or public charging in the +six months I've had my Rivian. A couple of inconveniences yesterday led me to a couple of questions about using the Rivian app for trip planning. Hoping when I finally get the NACS adapter and can un-filter...
I agree with those that say the guy has some valid points. He does. But the guy in the article had to add two Uber trips and vegas parking garage fee to his public charging fee in order to make the argument that 2009 Hummer H2 would have been cheaper to drive there. Dude could have easily saved...
got my R1T in March.
got the "confirm your address" email 11/18.
got the "order placed" / "thanks for your order" / "your order is being prepared" email 12/2.
no shipping notification yet.
embarking on a road trip on Saturday, so of course that adapter will probably arrive when I get back...
Mine seems to work most of the time, but sometimes it says I have no connection, the music stops, and I can't restart Apple music or Spotify for the rest of my drive (or at least a long time), even though the icon in the top right seems to indicate that I've got full bars of LTE connectivity...
same - late March '24 pick up ('23 VIN). Got the "confirm your shipping address" email on Monday 11/18. Can't wait!
Now, how long for shipping or delivery?
Anyone recall how long it took to get a shipping notification or receive it once you got the "Good news! Your complimentary NACS DC adapter is ready to be shipped" email and confirmed your address?
as someone who recently had a 6 day power outage from Hurricane Beryl, and was only able to use the Rivian to power the garage fridge & freezer full of deer meat, phone chargers, coffee maker, and a box fan via extension cords and power strips, what's a realistic timeline for being able to plug...
so what will still work and what will not work without the paid connectivity subscription? Is this correct?
- OTA updates for the vehicle's software will still work over free LTE
- using vehicle's LTE as a hotspot for phones/tablets/computers will no longer work unless you have a sub (not sure...
Why should anyone care about the current politics of the chairman of the OEM when deciding what to buy and drive? Drive what you like.
If you're driving an electric pickup truck, no matter the OEM, the F250 and super/heavy-duty dually-driving guys on the road will think you're a China-loving...
Spotify individual account is better for several reasons including the music and podcast library, song discovery algorithms, and better curated playlists.
...that being said, for me personally, after well over a decade of subscribing to Spotify as an individual, I made the choice a few years...
when I rent vehicles or drive my wife's vehicle, it's nice having my phone's google maps, and my phone's apple music or Spotify, etc. pop up and have text messages pop up..
...but in the Rivian, I'm fine with Rivian's nav, don't really need or miss google maps or waze on screen. and i don't...
my apologies, so many threads both here and reddit that i have not read or may have only skimmed. .. what is the timing of losing the free LTE connectivity and having to either subscribe to connect+ or tether a phone? ...and integrated SXM and Apple Music? ...none of these in the upcoming June...
I stealthed and ceramic coated mine. Cleans easy when I drive it thru a car wash. Doesn’t hold water spots or anything, but honestly, I don’t even care when it’s dirty. It’s a truck.
EDIT: one thing I tried to ask about before I got mine, but didn't really get an answer, was a worry I had...
