Did it begin leaking again soon after the replacement of the hvac assembly? This is not an inexpensive repair that is going against Rivians bottom line. I hope if another generation of hvac assembly is required they stop the replacements until the new version is available.
Noticed wet carpet on my Aug 2022 build R1t. Service wanted it in sooner than later appt made for three days out. When checking in at SC told entire hvac module would be replaced even though phone tech said it would be an hour and I could wait. Communication gap!. Going on week three without...
I might open the fire department link under the cowl drivers side that disconnects the HV battery and then remove the negative terminals on the 12 volt battery(s) that then completely removes all electrical power to the vehicle to prevent a fire.
I have considered the same approach changing battery technology. The risk you take is the algorithm for charging is built on AGM tech. Changing to Li-on and if there were a battery issue could affect your warranty. That’s the only reason I have not changed myself.
I have seen the actual agm deep cycle batteries Rivian uses available on line from a few suppliers. I just had my dual batteries replaced last week so I had a chance to oversee the changeout. Tech replaced batteries one by one but jumpered the negative terminals with a light gauge jumper...
Ok good news I had to speak with multiple service advisors but have been able to setup a mobile visit for Friday. Last person I communicated with said absolutely mobile service can replace the batteries.
Just received the 12 v battery requires replacement. Spoke with Rivian was all set with mobile service until I was told if I don’t have a Rivian wall connector no mobile service can be scheduled. Told rep I have two different Tesla wall connectors he said I have to drive to a SC. Not logical...
I am still a believer on the importance of quality. Produce the R2 with near perfection so the owners do not have to experience the Rivian service offerings. Basically make it the most reliable and defect free EV on the road, they will sell incentive or not. People still pay for quality
Agree this close to the vest service program is getting a bit old. I think Rivian forgets that we own the vehicle not Rivian and have the right to basic service info and at a minimum the right to purchase all parts.
I have had to speak with Tesla charging support a couple of times over last 8 years. They have been very knowledgeable and helpful. If the issue is with one of your wall connectors they can ship you a replacement.
