Seatosummit: that’s a cool boat. What powers it?
The access not the frequency to charging makes towing my boat a non starter for me (for now). Getting stuck in a tight spot or waiting for a pull through is concerning enough to not try. Perhaps if I had all day to get to point B maybe…...
Completely agree. This boat clocks in around 6k+ lbs so I notice it but the Rivian has 0 problems pulling. Also the ramp was muddy and not a squeak out of the tires on the way up the ramp! This boat is not destine for long road trips, so range is also not an issue for me.
I wasn’t sure how the Rivo would tow the boat so I held on to my F250 - until today. Bye bye F250; I enjoyed the time we had together but it’s time to move on.

Sounds like you landed a good gig Observer. I’m not looking for a job. I currently live mostly in Mammoth and I am a fan of the Rivian culture and product. So my comment was a 1/2 serious offer to PM-expedite a project for them. Maybe get a free T-shirt out of it?
Citizen: thanks for the compliment on fit. During delivery, i checked for any glaring gaps. No calipers or magnifiers, just a slow walk by without glasses. So it’s satisfying to know I didn’t miss anything. Sounds like you have or had some issues. I hope they all get satisfied and you...
Kirsi and COdogman: I rarely see other ridgebacks, but today we saw two at a beach in Santa Barbara. Maybe the Rivian called them out??
I will add to the dog-and-Rivian thread provided. But before I do….. pic for you ridgeback people:
Nucks: Thanks for the comments on the wheels. They were a last minute switch. I had the 21s in my configuration; then shop opened and I saw all my selections except on 20s, but dang it looked good in the rendering. Glad I did it. Sacrificed some efficiency for looks + snow this...
Biker- i really like the color. As many have said, the color looks so different in different light. I was hoping it was not too blue. It’s not and definitely more grey in it. This picture is next to a grey sprinter in the shade for contrast.
One week ago I picked up my R1S in El Segundo. I wanted to thank those of you that have helped inform us in the que. Specifically the threads that focused on the few weeks before and after deliver - the first drive/week notes from you all with pros and cons has been a favorite. Rivian...
Lest we get too smug, check out the Volvo report on carbon impact of their EV vs ice. The industry will improve carbon efficiency, but for now these EVs do have an impact. Your last sentence nailed it - “as much”. Great perspective.
I agree with the apples to oranges comments, but I do appreciate your post. When I first reserved the R1S I had imagined a larger vehicle. I currently own an F250 and have previously owned an Expedition, two Suburbans and a Tahoe. Then I saw the R1S in Venice, eventually drove the R1S on a...
