Haha unfortunately I will be traveling with some pretty sensitive (whilst large) items to Fort Worth. Those wheels are big (they don’t seem so on the truck) and are a PITA to move around. They are sexy as hell though.
This summarizes them well.
I’ve had both in the R1S. The Meridian is much more neutral with all of its frequencies being output by all of the speakers. It lacks reinforcement from the subwoofer in the majority of the volume range unless you’re up high. But does not have directionality issues...
Mine used to be that way, however, after me sitting with the tech and going out on runs they got it perfect. This is prior to the rear subframe swap.
They are apparently tricky cars to align. I suggest unless you’re willing to have them try a bunch of times, you pick a good spot and cover out...
Update: rear subframe replaced. We are now seeing a bit less of a delta, but that front drivers side corner continues to be lower by about half an inch. It’s an improvement as before it was about an inch to an inch and a half.
they are looking into potentially replacing the driver front side...
Update:
Got a call from the regional service manager (he’s been very involved with my case) and has ordered a rear subframe. They believe this is the reason the car is leaning to one side. They were not able to find any leaks in the air suspension system. The manager mentioned some measurement...
Glad you are getting your car worked on. The most interesting thing that is coming out of this is “reconfiguring the old dual 12v setup to a better setup”.
Could you ask them what is better about the new setup and how it’s done?
interesting…
Update - dropped the truck off yesterday. We shall see. I will keep you updated. Not looking promising as they said we are going to start “loosening and tightening” control arms and taking measurements, etc…
Has anyone gotten their unit to program via the car remote? I have not been able no matter what.
My Sommer unit is an EVO model with the 922mhz frequency I believe. In my Model S I had to program it via the “ D-mode”. I don’t see that as an option in the Rivian.
Agreed - it’s very embarrassing. It’s like they thought of it all… but failed at the basics. What’s more is that from the front or the rear of the car that light bar doesn’t help but call attention when the car is leaning.
What’s scarier is that what I am hearing from the service center, is...
Camp mode WILL do that. It uses accelerometers to this. A completely separate module from the normal day to day low, high, off-road high modes which only use the position sensors at each wheel.
Yeah - mine doesn’t lean with time, it does it always. Doesn’t really change overnight really.
My understanding is that for camp mode the car uses a completely different system to level (accelerometers and such). For driving height adjustments I believe it’s strictly off of the sensors at each...
Jason, did this ever come back or was the air unit what fixed it?
Also if possible, can you share your repair ticket number to share with my SC?
Thank you.
