Can you check my other thread? I don’t want to cross post and divert this thread even more (even though I believe they might be related). Appreciate any inputs.

Alright, so essentially the way they calibrate the height is to measure heights between floor (on an even surface) at specific points of the front and rear subframe. These check out in my case within the tolerances. Even though those are in spec, the heights between center of wheel to bottom...
Yeah - I would expect it to change too. I am seeing some weird stuff on ours though.
Low setting steering wheels is off to the left by 2-3 degrees. High setting steering wheel is off to the right 2-3 degrees.
I am stuck between it being off in alignment, something weird in the suspension and...
So essentially, new subframe, new control arms and steering wheel still off center.
Try the lowest setting and then the high setting and see if the steering angle changes while driving straight.
It’s a new observation I’ve seen in ours.
Agreed! It’s no longer due to the #2 battery going dead, but the one and only one the car has left ?.
This is the reason I always thought it doesn’t make sense and is not a problem of the #1, or #2… but a problem with the way the car manages power off of the HVU. It doesn’t matter if you have...
It appears “the old trouble some dual 12v battery system” is still the “new troublesome single 12v with capacitor system” as I keep seeing new off the line R1’s with 12v issues…
Hmm… I’m not sure if it’s a constant adjustment or not. Service center says they’ve ordered air springs, level sensor and I forgot what else ahead of the service call.
Hi all,
Interesting behavior observed over the weekend. Long story short, had Rivian align the car from the typical car is pulling to the right behavior. Spent about 2-4 hours with them adjusting til they got it right. This is all while we went on drives and put it back on the alignment rack...
There hasn’t been an official statement from Rivian. I am of the belief that it is more of a cost cutting solution, rather than a fix for dead 12v bolt batteries.
Yeah, you’re right. The red part does stick out. I believe on the adapted ones they simply reused the original design (the red part being flush) and extended the reverse lights.
