Yesterday there was a forum discussion about kneeling mode and the challenges of stepping in/out of the R1 and that running boards could be a solution to improve the experience. I mentioned that my delivery guide had emphasized that installing 3rd party running boards would negate the battery...
I wasn’t paying enough attention to the could and could nots during the walk-through to ask more about 3rd party running boards negating battery warranty. I plan to send a note to my guide asking for a clarifying statement.
For the very reason of helping to get in/out, I was intending to install running boards but Rivian emphasized, when I took delivery, installing them would negate the battery warranty because the bolts to install the runners would be the same used for the battery. Wondering, did Rivian happen to...
Yes, When I’m driving my Tesla MSLR I have no worries but until the SCs open to Rivian in NE WI the fast charging network for non-Teslas is sketchy at best. .
When driving I manually set temp, close upper side vents and set fan speed at lowest setting. It’s usually the most comfortable for me. Sometimes I’ll put it at 70°-71° but within 10 mins I’m setting back at 69°. It could be I preheat the cabin, while plugged in, to 72° just before taking my trip.
My first winter trip in the Rivian was better than expected. We live in southwestern WI with property in northeastern Door County, WI - 268 miles one-way. I’ve been trying to finish a project in DC and as Mother Nature plans poorly there was a two-day window to make a quick round trip to sew-up...
I spoke with EA this morning and the person on the other end of the phone said, it is our goal to have a high-speed charger every 70 miles throughout USA. I love the grandiose vision but can we just get one turned on that's badly needed in NE WI, for non-Teslas it's a high-speed charging...
Thanks for your note, much appreciated. Yes, looking forward to Sept delivery.
Perhaps up the road some EVs might begin to pull more than 48A - hopefully. I've already purchased the 80A charger and installing it at our family retreat. It's a charging desert there and I purchased a double 80A...
We own a Tesla Model S and have an R1T delivery date for Sept and planning a charger install this July. The charger I landed on is the ZEF ENERGY Pro 80amp (240v AC) with J-plug. Will the Rivian pull more than 48amps or is that the limit?
