Hi Folks Looking for some feedback what others would do in this situation.
I have 2 preorders here and I’ve been thinking about flipping the delivery order of the models.
Mid 2020 order LE move from R1S to T
Mid 2021 order Adventure from R1T to S
The original S then T orders had a Q3 and Q4...
Hrmm. Good thing I saw this thread. I was thinking of “flipping” my orders between my R1S and R1T. Looks like that would throw a potential 2021 R1T->S order flip into H1 2023 if I did so. Now deciding if I want to spread out or take quick succession deliveries.
Sadly, it was CS provided official dimensions that didn't account for the bump. It sounds like a lot of folks (me included) seemingly purchased coolers to use then based on those dimensions on the hopes that it'll work when they received their vehicles.
if they weren't fixed and finalized on...
I'm definitely interested too. I'm looking to do a Full PPF and potentially a ceramic coating on the car so I won't worry about leaning skis against it, or pin-striping it while offroad.
Also my old-ass seattle house is built in an era where cars were smaller so both cars will have to sit...
One of the things about LEDs is that it's basically a light emitting semiconductor. Sometimes, they burn out after just a few hours, so they would pass initial checks, but then just burn out and fail. I learned to always carry spares of LEDs when I retrofitted my home with approx 100 LED...
Makes sense. In most cases, I guess in our situation; we keep pretty much everything we drink in a Kleen Kanteen or Hydroflask insulated bottles; so it's not much of a behavioral adjustment. We typically end up only using the front 2 cupholders, and the rest is sealed insulated bottles. The...
Sorry, I'm not trying to be obtuse here. But beyond a coffee cup; is the general use case for more than 4 slots for disposable cups and fast-food drinks for eating in the car while it's moving? If so, I can see the use case for it for the North American market.
To be fair, my typical daily exposure are to European SUVs. They typically do have bottle Holders in the door pockets, so there technically is more than 4 cup holders. I think the Rivian is the same.
To be honest, in the premium car market; this is about par for the number for cupholders.
I only typically see a large number of cupholders in the more mainstream end of vehicles.
I do like Mercedes SUVs, and are accustomed to the level of comfort of the Mercedes GLS and such. That said, driving the Rivian didn't feel like much a downgrade. The car felt premium enough for its price point (both the original and the current)
Speaking of which, does the Rivian R1 have an OBD port (since it doesn't have a combustion engine and emissions control technology, BEVs don't technically require an OBD) that can be used by ABRP? It'd be good to see if anyone has tried.
I wonder if our original delivery dates were based on the 50k estimate, or if it was more conservative when quoting timeframe? I wonder what our updated delivery dates are now......
You won't get that on a test drive. I used to get Toyota priuses for work rental cars during business trips. I only learned how bad those seats were at the 2.5 hour mark vs my then-Volvo seats. Some things require the longer drive to validate.
