The bronze wheels have really grown on me. I wish it was an option color in all the sizes, as the color contrast is nice without the hideousness (personal opinion ! ) of chrome, or the lack of contrast of all-black.
My favorite thing about Apple Maps is that it will vibrate my watch prompting me to glance at my mounted iPhone to see that I need to prep for a turn. It's even me some pretty horrid navigation though.
Wouldn't building a trailer hitch receiver into the front and pre-wiring both ends for a winch plate that fit the receiver be a straight-forward thing for Rivian to do? They could then just let the aftermarket world handle winch offerings. Has anyone ever inspected the one winch-capable...
Generally, something that can perform at a higher level than is done in everyday use will be built with better cooling, more robust parts, etc. Cost-wise though, it's more money and probably slightly less efficient than something built to *just the right amount* for the target. The important...
Edit: thinking about it some more, if viewed from how it would be put to use in a rally mode, it would really aid in having the steering wheel prepositioned for the turn exit and let the kick turn do the hard work of moving the tail around. There, it's darned hard work getting the steering...
Not having driven one, but I'd think this could have been implemented with the last bit of the steering wheel turn invoking the kick turn. This would, I'd think, make the turn a little smoother too and any forward momentum is now redirected with less slide slip required. Shrug - I'm probably...
The system is meant to truly unlock and demonstrate the “breath of performance,” Bensaid said.
Is that like the "breath of the wok" (wok hei), except it's the smell of burnt rubber (also intoxicating)?
I finally retired my 500,000 mile 1996 BMW 328 convertible when my daughter hit a pothole at night and literally ripped one front wheel off. Just too much momentum all in one spot and something had to give.
Holy Moly. 1000 Nm torque - that's like 8x BMW HP-4, which I had to literally hang on to like my life depended on it (it did when launching it). They must be measuring it at a different point, as the HP-4 had a 0-60 of 2.9, and this is advertising 3.5. Regardless, that design is top notch.
While kinetic energy is proportional to the square of the relative velocity difference, a constant coefficient of friction in stopping a vehicle with four times the kinetic energy (twice the relative velocity) will result in doubled stopping time as depletion of that energy also follows the...
When my wife in our previous BMW X3 got simply sideswiped (though hard) by someone running a light it did less damage than this and it was totaled. That sideways impact bends important stuff.
