  1. 60A breaker melted while charging

100% it’s a “loose” lug. Use a torque driver! The loosenesses causes an arc. It’s like an arc welder…….
  2. Careful with “Alexa, open the hood…” (if you have something on the hood)

I find, in that situation, that a quick burst of the washer fluid will give a nice sweet glaze to the mac & cheese.
  3. Rivian doesn't cost less to drive on long trips

Very similar for me on the long trips. I don’t mind it when I am charging at RANs, but when I am at EAs with long waits etc It’s hard to swallow the pill. The good to maybe great payoff for me is that my calculation changes when I charge at home to .17/mile (higher than average home...
  4. Acceleration much slower after latest update - R1S

Ahhh. I remember my first time like it was yesterday…….
  5. Autosocks experience & towing in the snow

This is the case. I used them several times (10 - 15 probably) last year on a different vehicle. They started to look a bit frayed but useable at the end of the season. If I wasn’t lazy and took them off the minute I hit pavement, they would be in better shape. Additional note: if you...
  6. Oops! Who got too ambitious?

Looks like someone didn’t ask for a winch from Santa….
  7. Charging in Mammoth Lakes, CA

Sorry for the late reply. On my maps, it shows it as “Mammoth Lakes community recreation center“
  8. Yakima EXO Hitch Hauler installed for ski season

… looks very functional, and bad-arse!
  9. Rivian Van Mock Ups

Come to think of it, I have some time to start drafting. Does anyone have internal van dimensions ?
  10. First RAN charge required the app

Agree with the others. I have never had to interact with the app at a RAN. However I am not sure if there was some handshaking with the app behind the scenes as my Riv app is almost always open and with me.
  11. Rivian Van Mock Ups

I’m with ya on that. I have a sprinter RV and would start a buildout on a Rivian van now if available - for no good reason.
  12. Charging in Mammoth Lakes, CA

Yes. They seem to be working on that last one. But the others have power.
  13. Two Rivian family

Congrats R1TY! My wife wanted one as soon as I drove home with my S.
  14. Charging in Mammoth Lakes, CA

I read a few people asking about Mammoth charging in other posts this week. As hayduke and others have posted, there is not much progress in mammoth for public (non-tesla charging). Other than private homes and restricted charging at some hotels and condos, there seems to be only two...
  15. San Diego to Mammoth - 1st charge question?

I agree with ADVNOW. The Rivian charging at Inyokern and on the route up is great. I’ve charge at Inyokern at least 10 times now and only once was there a failure on the trailer pull through unit. On holiday weekends it gets crowded on Fridays and Sundays- but good availability the rest of...
  16. Taking my R1T from Santa Clarita to Mammoth next week. What to expect?

I do that run all the time. I live in mammoth and have friends/family/business in SCV through SB. On the way up and back you will have no problems- the challenge is what to do while in Mammoth. As previously stated there are Rivian chargers at Inyokern, Olancha , and Bishop. They are...
  17. R1S car camping = successful experience

It works. I just tried “Alexa set temp to 68”. Also “max” and “auto” work
