Robotaxi, if it actually works as a level 4, is chasing the Uber/Lyft market. Except it will make sense mostly for fleets. The narrative of individual buyers renting out their Robotaxi seems far fetched to me.
Obviously if one didn't purchase FSD, one isn't owed anything. Figured this much was obvious.
More importantly, 600k FSD purchases at say $8k a pop is a potential max refund liability of $4.8B. Put that way, this may be a great incentive to upgrade those owners.
My guess is that it'll never happen. Instead, discounts will be offered for a new car and that's that. The rest will get refunds through class action settlements
Eyes off will be certain highways during daytime with good weather. Also, L3 will most likely have to follow highway speed limits. Still, would be awesome
The driver tech in the gen2 Rivian is way better than gen1 (I got both). It's still not Tesla FSD but it's a very good highway ADAS. Frankly, until someone releases a level 3 point to point ADAS, I don't want point to point ADAS. I have tried Tesla FSD and it was amazing but it's also not fool...
I wouldn't be surprised if Chinese cars quality is so so. They come with new models every 2 years and prices there are super low to the massive excess capacity. So, it stands to reason that some shortcuts are taken.
