I'm now in a situation similar to the one described by the OP. I'm considering releasing my assigned VIN, and what @4tangledkites said is encouraging. I'm interested in hearing from other folks as well who have released a VIN, and how long it took them to get assigned a new VIN once they were...
As we're approaching the beginning of calendar year 2024, I think it would be beneficial to know what model year the current deliveries are. Since that's not a column in the table, will folks include that in their posts?
@Bristlecone, I've been in the same boat as you. I agree with your interpretation of the CO tax credit information, i.e., the credit increases from $2800 to $5000 in 2024, and that it's the possession date, not the binding contract date, that's used to determine the amount you get. There are...
Thanks for the clarification. It sounds like we might be in the same phase. The difference of course is that I have shop access and see plenty of R1S vehicles. I know there are other discussions about why some folks have access and some don't, so I won't rehash that here.
I'm trying to understand this thread, but am being thrown off by terminology.
In my case, in August I received an email from my guide saying it was time to "confirm my configuration" (in one place in the email) and "confirm my order" in another place in the email. I did go through the...
Thanks. In June when you were seeing both R1S and R1T in the Shop, had you Confirmed your configuration?
Can someone with a Confirmed configuration tell me if they see both models in the Shop, or only the model that matches their confirmed model?
A couple of weeks ago I confirmed my R1S configuration. Since then, I’ve been monitoring the Shop, and have seen plenty of R1S and R1T availability.
Yesterday I checked the Shop and now see only R1S models. No R1T.
Does anyone know if what you’re shown in the Shop is limited to whichever...
Greetings from CO. I just watched a YouTube video of a couple who damaged their AWD Sprinter while off-roading in rural OR and had to be towed 130 miles to the closest MB repair shop in Bend OR after a local repair shop told them they didn't have the ability to make the repair.
This got me to...
Thanks Lpool63 for providing that info. I do see that the IRS publication you linked to only lists the 2022 and 2023 model years. I wonder though why the 2024 MY isn't listed. I assume it doesn't have any noteworthy changes that would disqualify it. But since it's not currently listed, I guess...
What's your accountant's basis for these statements? Unless I'm missing something (which is entirely possible, given that the IRS is involved), this doesn't seem to be the case because...
...the RIvian Binding Contract to Purchase that I signed doesn't limit the purchase agreement to specific...
I saw that in Kyle's video as well. It's worth noting though that in that video's comments, someone asked Kyle what his recommendation is for those with pre-March pricing which results in only a $500 difference between the Quad and the Dual, and his recommendation was to go with the Quad...
Yes. See these threads about owners that have gone with Michelin Defenders or Pirelli Scorpion AS on the Rivian 20" rims. The initial experience has been that those tires equal or slightly better the range of the 21" setup.
I plan to go this route, currently leaning towards the Defenders...
Looking at the specs for this tire on the Tire Rack website shows a max tire inflation of 80 psi. So perhaps this isn't an issue for this particular tire?
As zipzag and others have pointed out, not all of the 22% range increase that my calculations show are attributed to just the Max Pack. The other part of that 22% increase is due to the Dual Motor. I've reworded my original post to make that more clear.
And the table below shows how much of...
My numbers are based on the Configurator, which shows...
Quad Motor, Large Battery, 20" AT wheels: Range 274
Dual Motor, Max Batter, 20" AT wheels: Range 335
335 - 274 = 61
61/274 = 22%

My priorities for my R1T purchase are mostly range-related because I do plan to haul a camping trailer at some point. In trying to make sense of all of the "R1T Max Pack vs. Other" comparisons in this thread, I put the following tables together. I hope this is helpful to others.
What's below is...
