José Castillo has what I think is a good analysis:

Best wishes!
Portland SC's loaner 2022 "Bluey" came with a fob, perhaps because the fob was standard on the 2022s.
They had the fob attached to a large contraption, presumably to make it harder to use.
I agree that it's unwise to depend only on a keycard with no backup.
Best wishes!
If a wire or connector is uncomfortable to hold, I figure I'm closer to the safety margin than I want to be.
I'm sure that works better in our mild coastal climate than it would in many parts of the country.
Best wishes!
Looks like dusk, but your camera was able to see the truck clearly. I presume the humans could also see the truck reasonably clearly.
Both drivers' behavior contributed to this crash, but I have trouble excusing the turning vehicle, which appears to have entered the ongoing lane well before it...
Apparently most Arizonans and Floridians handle yellow lights differently from most of us in the Northwest (especially the rural Northwest).
It's best to be ready for anything, but I'm understanding @SwampNut's assumptions better now.
Does "cager" mean "somebody in an enclosed vehicle"...
Someone has to be the first in the line to realize that (1) the light is yellow and (2) they have room to stop before entering the intersection. Then to actually stop. That can be anyone, in any place in the line.
As a motorcyclist, I bet @SwampNut is often the first to stop for a yellow/red...
I'm looking forward to being in the middle of the line for updates.
Because others go ahead of me, I know what's coming (good and bad) when I install my updates.
Thanks, everyone!
Did I just read what I think I read, @SwampNut?
You don't need to pay attention at stop lights because you can trust that others are paying attention?
What if two or more people in front of you are all making the same assumption? Sounds deadly....
Best wishes!
I expect we'll buy an R2 -- provided we don't have to give an airline-style "how to get out in an emergency" talk to any rear seat passengers.
I don't care how much money they saved if it's not safe! All the other changes look safe enough, but I'm planning to evaluate the rear doors very...
One thing not yet mentioned: What else is plugged into that circuit?
I'm not an electrician, but this reflects what I understand from many electrician, engineering, and safety sources:
Sustained drain on any electrical circuit, from all sources, should not exceed 80% of the circuit's rated...
Do the harnesses come off and on easily, or with some difficulty?
Costco has unlimited muscles to unload and load at their end, so I'm only worried about making my burden manageable when loading, unloading, and storing at home.
Thanks in advance!
Until we wear out the OEM 21" tires, which we use as "summer" tires, we have one tire/wheel set for winter and one for summer. Each tire/wheel set is about 85# and is very difficult for me to lift by myself.
Will the Gear Shop harness go on and off each tire, sequentially, for lifting...
My wife needs "easy entry" -- but that function can crush metal cans.
I transport food for our food banks, and I no longer put any food (regardless of packaging) where it can fall behind the driver's seat.
Best to all!
The article's shortcomings may have obscured its important points:
(1) Payment and tracking mechanisms introduce multiple failure points to public charging systems.
(2) Cumulatively, these failure points discourage EV adoption.
(3) Chargers could be programmed to switch to free, non-tracked...
Based on my vast experience of exactly two Service Centers (Portland and Bellevue), I think "the Rivian" has WONDERFUL service centers. Not saying they're all wonderful -- I've been on this forum long enough to know better -- but I'd caution all of us against overgeneralizing based on limited...
I hope you like your R1S, @SactownD. You may be keeping it for a long time.
FSD (from any vendor) seems to be increasingly excellent -- until it isn't.
When it malfunctions, FSD appears capable of committing the car to a lethal outcome before the human can (1) realize there's a problem; (2)...
