We’ve also been towing our 19 foot, single axle Airstream without a WDH. It tows amazing on just the ball and I love how much faster it is to hitch and unhitch, especially for charging stations. We did go with the Built Right hitch that has the optional sway ball for high wind days.

I took delivery end of November and got mine in February. Would prefer the auto, but am impressed by the quality of the manual and like it.

Mine was replaced under warranty in December, the service techs looked for and found no impact marks. I personally love the glass roof.

Ahh yes, I got the wrong route. I did see several new chargers open that weren’t last week, the second Supercharger in Burley, Idaho and Two Harbors, Minnesota are two examples. If anyone is hoping for a specific one I would keep checking.

This whole route is showing open now on the Tesla map. I noticed many other v3 superchargers that weren’t showing last week are showing now, at least in more remote areas.

Awesome setup! I bought some folding cones off Amazon for the same purpose. Can also use them to block the space in front of the trailer if I need to unhitch to charge.

There is not many charging stations setup like gas stations today. Even the Pilot / Flying J sites are often normal parking spaces where a rear charge port would mean unhitching.

As someone that tows all the time, a rear charge port would be an absolute nightmare.

I expect the Supercharger access to have a slicker experience than the current Magic Dock experience and I don’t expect us to need to use the Tesla app. Unless something’s changed, I expect there to be a billing component where we will pay through Rivian, hopefully with plug and charge, and...

The Hays EA station had an extended outage for several days recently and it got a lot of attention and complaints. The way this was the only location added and feeling out of nowhere feels like a very online response. Also will not complain about another location.

Ahh yeah, you’re right. Point still stands that it’s variable.

EA switched to variable pricing per site. The ones closest to me range from $.48kWh to $.56kWh with the pass.

I’ve only found one company that makes it as a drop hitch, but Bulletproof Hitches has a friction sway bar only option. I plan to buy this for our R1T as our trailer is under 5k but I want the optional sway protection when I need it...
